Crazy 4 Challenges – Back to School

This week’s challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges is Back to School which always makes me think, red, white and blue and Labor Day.   This image is a digital stamp from Sassy Cheryl.  The stars in the background are made using Stamping Up’s Oh My Stars embossing folder. The image was colored with Copic markers.

On the inside I used Karen Burniston’s Snowman Twist Circle die (again, yes I know!) and her wonderful Words 2, Birthday Die Set.  The little stars are attached to fishing line so it shakes when opened.  I also used Karen Burniston’s Nature Edges dies for the bottom of the area where you write your greeting.  Enjoy celebrating and I hope you’ll join in this challenge!  Hugs, Fran

Crazy For Challenges – Monochromatic

This challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges is a Monochromatic Challenge.  I chose yellow with black as my accent color.  The background on the front of the card is done with a stencil and shimmer spray.  The sentiment and diet are from Stamping Up’s Sunshine Sayings and matching die, Sunshine Wishes.  I added rhinestones and metallic stars and a scallop boarder from the Colorful Seasons die.

Inside I used Karen Burniston’s Snowman Twist Circle die to create the sun popping up!  I added sunglass from SU’s  Pocketful of Sunshine die and lot of shimmer 🙂  I repeated some of the accents from the front on the inside.  This is such a fun challenge and I hope you’ll play along!  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros August Challenge – Monochromatic

This month’s Paper Pros challenge is monochromatic – and I cheated just a little bit 🙂  Tranquil Tide and White with a squirrel!  The sentiment is from Carols of Christmas and the squirrel is a new die from Karen Burniston – Woodland Animals.  Isn’t he cute??  But the best is inside…

This is Karen Burniston’s new Tree Pop Up die and Nature’s Edges.  It’s a snowy scene with beautiful ornaments from the SU Carols of Christmas die hanging from the tree.  The moon is a 2 1/2″ circle punch.  Make sure to check out the other Paper Pro’s creations!  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros May Challenge – A Few of My Favorite Things

The Paper Pros are at it again with a new challenge – A Few of My Favorite Things!  One of my favorite things is Karen Burniston’s Heart Pivot die.  Using a new Stamping Up Designer Series paper, Delightful Daisy, I created a Mother’s Day card.  I die cut the heart in Wisteria Wonder and stamped the background with another new stamp, Wood Words, and heat embossed “with love” over the top.

On the inside I repeated the background stamping and stamped the sentiment from the retiring Oh So Succulent, on Whisper White and die cut a banner from the Thoughtful Banners set.  The Pool party strip is embossed with the Petal Burst embossing folder and the Wisteria trim is punched with a border punch and placed underneath another strip of the DSP.  The Heart Pivot die is a “forever” die in my collection!

Make sure to check out what the other Pros have created this month!  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros Challenge – PI day

It’s Pi day and the Paper Pros are celebrating !  I started with Karen Burniston’s Rectangular Pull card and the Lawn Fawn Science of Love stamp set.  I drew the chalk board on some Basic Black card stock.

The paper is the In Color envelope paper – lots of cute designs.  I did the sentiment on my computer.

The inside has more images from the stamp set and a paper pieced pie.

So you decide which PI is for you!  Make sure to check out the other Paper Pros take on this challenge.  Hugs, Fran

Team Egg Cartons

We had a team meeting recently and I had challenged my team to use the egg cartons for a project.  Some of the gals took me up on my challenge and I want to share the results with you today!  Send out some love for……..

Our beach loving friend, Anne!  She did a home decor egg carton.

The carton is decorated with Swirly Bird and the matching dies and filled with…..

sea shells!  Brilliant!  Next up is Lynne……….

She used the Salebration set Hey Chick and made the chicks stand up on the top of her colored egg carton!

Can you see how they stand up?

Inside she made an Easter treat box.  Cute!  Then there was Elena’s carton – which made everyone gasp!

Yeah, I know!  She used paper succulents and some store bought succulents to create a rock garden!

There were so many gorgeous things going here!  See her cute sign?  I played along too……..

I used Bunny Basket to make a traditional Easter egg carton.

And that’s it!  Thanks to gals who participated and hope you’ve enjoyed seeing all these ideas.  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge – All I Want For Christmas

This is challenge is to use the die that you would most like to see under the tree (if you didn’t already have it!)  I have to say that my current favorite Pop It Ups die is the Twist Circle!  Now before I show you the card I need to say that not only do we celebrate Christmas during December – we also have 5 birthdays!  That’s right – 5!  So with that in mind………

Happy Birthday!  This card is 4 1/2 x 8 1/2, featuring SU’s Birthday Fiesta stamp  and coordinating paper.  The balloon is coated with Glossy Accents and the llama and balloon are popped up with fun foam.

The llama is holding the hand drawn balloon string in his mouth (almost looks like a mustache!)

But the magic happens when you open the card!

The center balloon flies up into place creating a happy scene!  It’s a wonderful die!  Check out what the other designers are doing on Karen’s Facebook page or her blog!  Happy times!  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge – Charmed, I’m Sure!

This challenge is all about charms – Karen Burniston’s Hanging Charms!  There are lots of charms available and I chose the Holiday Charms for this card.  But I didn’t hang them…..

piu-buster-christmas-01

I used Buster the Dog and the Holiday Charms to create a Christmas card.  The snowflake is hanging from a die cut circle and the package and tree charm decorate the background.  The house is fussy cut from Stampin Up’s Candy Cane Lane Designer Series paper.

The snowflake is suspended on some fishing line.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge – Hat Attack

piu-jinks-04

What could be better than a barrel of monkeys?  A barrel of monkeys celebrating YOU!  This Designer Challenge is “Hat Attack” and I chose Jinks the Monkey and the Cowboy hat from Props 6.  The barrel is the basket from Barrel Basket with Pop Up.

Everyone is celebrating!

Inside I used the Twist Circle Pop Up die, another Jinks and several hats to continue the celebration.

Karen Burniston Team Challenge – ROYGBIV

Time for another Karen Burniston Team Challenge – ROYGBIV!  The colors of the rainbow only monochromatic.  I chose the color Pink 🙂

endless-wishes-01

I started with a retired Stampin Up sentiment from Remembering Your Birthday and used Karen’s Labels and Circles die for the front.  Lots of pink and a little bling finish it off.

endless-wishes-01-open-2

The inside is a Pop It Ups Twist Circle Panel card with lots of cake and presents.  The cake is from Stampin Up’s Endless Birthday Wishes.  And more bling – of course.  The video on how to make this card can be found here.
