A Musical Birthday

Karen Burniston challenged us to use any of her new Pop It Ups dies to create anything we wanted – makes my head spin!  I decided to use her Pop It Ups Accordion Fancy Label to create a birthday card.  The “Happy Birthday” is an Elizabeth Craft Design die that is so nice and thin I could bend is in an arc across the front.  The flower is a stack of Petite Petal punch flowers scrunched to make a little flower.  The little banner is the new banner punch in the SAB mini – rounded with an oval punch on the top.

Here it is open.  The center square is embossed using My Friend.  The “to You” is made up of the “You” in the ECD die Thank You and the “to” is the T from birthday and O from you.  (Does that make sense?)  The die for the Red Glimmer paper diamonds in the corner comes with the Accordion Fancy Label die!

Supplies
Stamp Set – My Friend
Cardstock – Very Vanilla, Red Glimmer paper, Basic Black, Modern Medley DSP
Ink – Versamark
Etc – Pop It Ups Accordion Fancy Label, ECD Happy Birthday and Thank You dies, Small banner punch, Petite Petal punch, Candy dots

Lots of fun!  Hugs, Fran

Good as Gold

This card is from the Sale a bration kit called Good as Gold.  It makes lots of sweet cards like this one and comes with sentiments in English, French and German.  Here’s another idea for this kit –

Using My Digital Studil, I printed out this image from Artistic Etchings and cut it out with the Oval Framelit die.  I added a layer behind it using the beautiful Gold Foil.  Then I used the “merci!”

Supplies
Cardstock – Good as Gold notecards, Gold Foil specialty paper, Whisper White
Etc – MDS2 (Artistic Etchings), Candy Dots

Now to come up with some very German – and I’ll have a cute set!  Any ideas?  This is why I love MDS!  Hugs, Fran

Spiral Rose Pops

Oh my!  I forgot to show you the original project for the Spiral Rose die Lollipop Flowers!  This box is an svg file from SVGcuts (Honeybee Tea) that is meant to hold cakepops.  I made it to hold some of the roses – or more accurately, the roses fit in the box

The DSP is retired and the acetate is from Quatrefancy Specialty DSP.

Supplies for the flowers
Cardstock – Pink Pirouette, Real Red, Wild Wasabi,
Etc – Spiral Rose die, Flower punch

It’s fun to combine the things I love!  Hugs, Fran

Spiral Rose Bouquet

I made these Spiral Rose Dum-Dum lollipop roses for another project and had lots of them left over just sitting on my desk.  So…..I made this!  The base is a little, plastic Easter basket – 50 cents at the grocery store – with a 3″ Styrofoam ball pushed inside.  I pushed the sticks into the ball and it covered almost all of the Styrofoam.  For the few spots that were showing, I punched some tiny flowers in Wild Wasabi and used corsage pins to stick them in the spaces.

I decided to add a little butterfly for some “bling!”  I used a piece of wire and glued it between 2 butterflies punched out of Silver Glimmer paper.  After it dried, I added two small butterflies and some rhinestones colored with a Black Copic.

To make the roses, die cut a Spiral Rose die and punch a hole in the tab at the center that is large enough to push your stick through.  Then use your bone folder to curl the Sprial Rose.  Once it curls, you might want to roll it up with your fingers to give it more shape.  You don’t need to glue it – just push your Dum-Dum stick through the center and add a green flower punch to the bottom to look like leaves.

Supplies
Cardstock – Pink Pirouette, Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Silver Glimmer paper
Etc – Spiral Rose die, Flower punch, rhinestones, small basket, Styrofoam ball, wire

Then you have a sweet gift for a friend – or a cute decoration for yourself.  Hugs, Fran

So Very Grateful

This card is a side-ways extended Circle Card Thinlit using So Very Grateful from the current mini catalog.  I stamped the image in Stazon and colored it with Stampin Write Markers and added a few pearl to the centers of some of the flowers.  The scallop on the side uses the Tasteful Trim die.

To make the extended card I cut my cardstock to 4 1/4 x 11 and placed it under the die – pulling the end up and over so that it doesn’t get cut.  This leaves the top part of the die empty.  Then I folded the left side on the score lines and scored again at 5 1/2.

I used a sentiment from Petite Pairs on the inside of the circle.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – So Very Grateful, Petite Pairs, My Friend
Cardstock – Pool Party, Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet DSP (SA
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Stampin Write Markers – Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Pear Pizzazz
Etc – Circle Card Thinlit, Summer Starfruit ribbon, Tasteful Trim die, pearls

The extended size really gives you a lot of room for your message!  Hugs, Fran

From My Heart Double High

Sometimes it’s just fun to mix styles and see what happens!  I used the Soho Subway Designer Series paper and From My Heart stamp set and came up with this Katie Label Double High Pivot card.

The heart in the center is “filled” with Crystal Effects. I love the look it give it – kind of 3-D ish – and it makes the colors really pop.

There is so much going on in the paper that I stuck with the grid paper for the sentiments.

Supplies
Stamp Set – From My Heart
Cardstock – Island Indigo, Early Espresso, Soho Subway DSP
Ink – Early Espresso, Crisp Cantaloup
Etc – Katie Label Pop It Ups die, Agatha Edges, Candy Dots, This and That Epic Day Washi Tape

Have fun mixing and matching!  Hugs, Fran

Better Banner Blast

I made several of these little notecards using Banner Blast and the matching punch – Saleabration items!  These notecards are no longer available, but there are lots of other notecards from which to choose in the catalog, so I thought I’d share this idea.

On the inside I added a Pop It Ups by Karen Burniston – Lucy Label – and another banner.  Even though it’s a tiny card, the Lucy Label fits any size.

Bootiful Tag

Here’s a tag for a little boy’s birthday gift.  It’s a 3 x 3 and uses the Bootiful Occasions stamp set.  I embossed the front with the Square Lattice embossing folder, added a star using the Star #2 die and colored the cowboy boot from the set with Stampin Write Markers.  A Candy Dot finishes it off.  Short and sweet!  On the inside I added the sentiment from the stamp.
