Bewitched Pop N Cuts

I need a card to go with my Halloween suite of projects – don’t you agree?  I had to use my exclusive SU Pop N Cuts base and Dress Form insert because it’s my favorite!  I love the closure on the base – and I love how it shows just a peek of the paper inside.  This paper from Witches’ Brew is the easiest paper in the world to create a card.  I didn’t have to do a thing!  The design on the paper made a perfect base for what I had in mind.

I just punched out this “warning” and adhered it to the funny witches’ menu style paper, added a strip of Pumpkin Pie card stock and that was that.

So here she is – making potions!  She has her spell book, hat, candle, wand, broom and cauldron.  She is ready to cast some spells!

I added googlie eyes across the top the card.  There are weird little dots on the paper – I just filled them with eyes.  I also added some glitter stars so she’d have a bit more sparkle.  One of the papers in Witches’ Brew looks like book paper so it made a perfect spell book.  The witches hat has an Orange Stampin Glitter band.

To make her dress, I cut off the top of a Dress Form Framelit with the Full Heart punch and added the ears from the Owl Builder to the shoulders.  Then I covered the entire piece with Two Way glue and Black Stampin Glitter.  I had one star left so I adorned her top with that. Her necklace is pearls colored with a Sharpie Marker.  For the skirt, I traced the skirt and made it longer then free-hand cut the edge.  The cauldron is a 1 1/2″ circle punch cut straight across the top.  The feet on the cauldron are another Dress Form Framelit bottom – just snipped to fit behind the cauldron.

Then I embossed across the top using the Delicate Design embossing folder.  I covered it with Dazzling Details.  The foam in the cauldron is vellum card stock brayered in Pear Pizazz and accented with pearls and more Dazzling Details.

I love creating things for Halloween because there are no rules and I love my Pop N Cuts die   Hugs, Fran

Snowflakes

Does this look familiar?  I cased myself – I took the front elements from this card and made a “regular” card.

Stamp Sets – Festive Flurry, Christmas Messages
Card stock – Whisper White, Winter Frost DSP, Silver Glimmer
Ink – Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Versamark, Smokey Slate
Etc – Scallop Edge punch, Festive Flurry Framelits, Frosted Finished Embellishments.

The Holiday Mini starts August 1 – and I’m so excited!  Hugs, Fran
p.s. Anyone have an idea on getting my sleep back on track after traveling?

Hello, Lovely Coral

My favorite catalog sample is on page 3 using Hello, Lovely – so I cased it   I used a notecard to make the base.  The notecards are so easy to use!  Stamp the background in Crisp Cantaloupe (Dictionary background stamp) and then make a Polaroid frame out of Calypso Coral – using the Square Framelits to die cut the inside piece.  I stamped the Hello, Lovely sentiment on Crisp Cantaloupe card stock and punched the butterfly from a piece of I Am Me Designer Series paper.  Since I didn’t have any buttons that matched, I made a Crisp Cantaloupe rose using the Clay molds.

Stamp Sets – Hello, Lovely,  Dictionary
Card stock – Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe
Ink – Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral
Etc – Clay rose, Hardware Clips Essentials, Square Framelits

We will make this one in stamp club this month!  Hugs, Fran

Ms Crafty Pop N Cut

I happen to know someone who had a birthday on Tuesday who is very, very crafty – so I made her a crafty pop n cut card!  I used the Birthday Basics Designer Series paper and the Remembering Your Birthday stamp set.  Can you guess who it is?

She’s quite the Pop N Cuts kind of gal –

She can always be seen with the exclusive Stampin Up Dress Form insert and matching Framelit –

Check out her Pop N Cuts cards and her pretty banner decorating her stamp room –

And her stack of dies –

They’re all over her work place – dies and inserts!

And, of course, her Big Shot!  Any guesses!  Hugs, Fran

Festive Flurry Label PNC

First off – good news!  The Label Insert is available again!  This is such good news because the Label insert can be used for any and every card you want to create.  Now for a sneak peek of two new sets from the upcoming Holiday Mini – Festive Flurry and Christmas Messages – using the Pop N Cuts Label insert designed by Karen Burniston exclusively for Stampin Up.

The Festive Flurry set has a matching Framelit and I die cut it 4 times – Glimmer paper, Bermuda Bay, embossed silver, and Coastal Cabana.  The snowflake is a new embellishment called Frosted Finishes.

The Designer Series paper is Winter Frost and it’s a specialty paper.  I took my colors straight from the paper.

A smaller snowflake for the inside.

The sentiment is on the matching Deco Label Framelit.  I just love when things coordinate!

That hanging snowflake is on a box made by cutting the fold of the
shelf and making another box.  Then I  cut the snowflake to hang
it.  (I really could have made things easier for myself by just slitting the snowflake – I quite often do things the hard way!)

Stamp Sets – Festive Flurry, Christmas Messages
card stock – Whisper White, Silver Glimmer, Bermuda Bay, Winter Frost DSP
Ink – Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Smokey Slate, Versamark
Etc – SU exclusive PNC base and Label insert, Festive Flurry and Deco Label Framelits, Frosted Finished embellishment, silver embossing powder, Scallop edge punch

This card really sparkles in real life.  Wonder why it’s so hard to photograph glitter?  Hugs, Fran

Oh Hello Label PNC

Here’s a fun card made with the Afternoon Picnic Designer Series paper, Oh Hello stamp set and the Pop N Cuts base and Label insert.  The Label insert is not currently available but should be back in stock soon.  On the front I used a Paper Doily and a Clay rose.  To color the rose I simply “smooshed” it into the Wisteria Wonder stamp pad and then went over it with a Stampin Write marker.

The inside has a little banner.

And it’s hung on some So Saffron Baker’s Twine.  The sentiment is from Six Sided Sampler.  I used the Top Note die to make the Wisteria Wonder accent at the top and bottom.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Oh Hello,  Six-Sided Sampler
card stock – Afternoon Picnic, Pear Pizzazz, Wisteria Wonder, Very Vanilla
Ink – Smokey Slate, Crushed Curry, Wisteria Wonder
Etc – Itty Bitty Shapes punch, pearls, SU Pop N Cuts base and Label insert, Deco Label Framelits, Top Note die, Circle Framelits, Sizzix Flagpole with Lantern, Paper Doily, Clay rose, So Saffron Baker’s Twine

I just love this Designer Series paper!  Hugs, Fran

Friends and Coffee

Here’s a take on another Karen Burniston Pop N Cuts class card.  I used the exclusive Stampin Up Pop N Cuts base die to create the card.  The Designer Series paper is Etcetera – a nice vintage paper.  The front is a Label Framelit cut with the Cordinations Early Espresso paper, sanded, and a piece of Calypso Coral Chevron ribbon.  The mug is from the insert (coming up) and the heart is from the Hearts Framelits.  I covered it in Crystal Effects – and I mean covered it!  I wasn’t paying attention and got a ton of it on there!

This is the Mug & Heart insert – so cute!  After I die cut the inside, I cut the mug out again in Soft Suede and ran it through my Big Shot using the Modern Mosaic embossing folder.

Then I went over the design with Crystal Effects and added an image from Notable Notions to the front.

The sentiment is from Lots of Thanks – and that’s Epic Day Washi tape on the sides.

Stamp Sets – Notable Notions, Lots of Thanks
card stock – Etcetera DSP, Calypso Coral, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Pool Party
Ink – Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, Night of Navy
Etc – SU Pop N Cuts base die, Sizzix Mug & Hearts insert, Crystal Effects, Circle punches, Epic Day Washi tape, Label Framlit and Heart Framelit, Modern Mosaic embossing folder

Other than needing some time to dry because of my heavy hand with the Crystal Effects – this card was easy and fun to make!  Hugs, Fran

Zoo Babies

This is a re-do of one of the cards we made at the Pop N Cuts class I took.  I used the new set Zoo Babies to make this one.  (It’s the robot card in this post)

All the animals are out to greet you when you open the card.

The monkeys are hanging on the fishing line – didn’t turn out exactly as I had in mind, but it works.  The elephant’s ear is popped up with Dimensionals.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Zoo Babies, Sassy Salutaions
card stock – So Saffron, Whisper White, I Am Me Designer Series paper, Real Red
Ink – Wild Wasabi, Jet Black Stazon, Real Red, smoky Slate, Chocolate Chip
Etc – SU Pop N Cuts base, Sizzix, Funky Label insert and Framelits, Sizzix Flagpole, Movers and Shapers star, fishing line, Pennant Punch, Crystal Effects, Bird Punch, Hexagon embossing folder, Real Red taffeta ribbon

It’s a beautiful morning here!  The humidity has been so high that it’s hard to be outside.  Today is sunny and cooler – time to play!  Hugs, Fran

Seeing Stars

This is another card we made in class this weekend.  It’s a cascading star card and was one of my favorites.

It uses the Star insert – and it’s a blast to open!

I turned it into a 4th of July card using Karen Burniston’s free Uncle Sam template for the Dress Form Framelit.  (not mention lots of Glimmer paper!)

Supplies
Stamp Set – Fabulous Phrases
card stock – Real Red, Night of Navy, Whisper White, Subtles paper pack, Silver and Red Glimmer papers
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Etc – SU Pop N Cut base, Banner Framelits, Sizzix Star insert, MDS 2

I don’t send many (any) 4th of July cards – but I do have a niece at camp that might think this is fun.  Any mail is fun at camp!  Hugs, Fran

Beautifully Baroque

I case the idea for this from Shelli Gardner (!)  but I changed several things.  I kept the layout and the elements on the card and that’s about it.

Since I don’t have the background stamp she used, I chose Dictionary for my background.  To make the lighter/darker areas on the background stamp, I inked it in Crumb Cake and then took a sponge dauber and added some Early Espresso.  The center piece is the Framelit from Chalk Talk and the stamp set I used is Lacy & Lovely.  I also switched out the sentiment and used Perfect Pairs.  I love the card – and really love how changing just a few things makes it my own (kind of!)

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Beautifully Baroque, Petite Pairs, Lacy & Lovely, Dictionary
cardstock – Crumb Cake, Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer, Vellum Card stock
Ink – Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Etc – Chalk Talk Framelit, Beautiful Butterfly die, Pansy punch, Baroque embossing folder, Vintage clear button, linen thread, Butterfly punch (small), Rhinestone

To make the big flower, I punch 3 or 4 pansy punches, misted them with water and wadded each punch up.  After they dried, I stacked them together and used glue to hold them.  Once it was dry I gathered the petals into the look I wanted and glued it to the card.  (I might need to hand deliver this one!)  Hugs, Fran
