Cup Pop Stand

Here’s a card I did for the Elizabeth Craft Design blog. Today  I’ll be using the Cup Pop Stand to create a card.

PIU Cup Pop Stand 01

I started with the Swirly Flourish Stencil and Suzanne Cannon’s A Way With Words Hello. I die cut 3 of the words and glued them together to get some height.  Create a varied look with the stencil by changing the pressure of your sponge or ink applicator as you move from top to bottom.  Then I splattered over that with dark brown ink and sponged the edges.  Gold foil down the side and gold brads go with the gold filament behind the words.

Here’s the inside. Cut a 4 x 10 3/4 piece of paper and die cut the pop stand on the center fold.  I repeated the sponging with the stencil on just the 2 corners.

The cup has a vellum card stock “swirl of smoke.”

The cup is cut from red polka dot paper twice.  Flip the die for the second cut if your paper is blank or has a different pattern on back. The heart on the cup is from the Hanging Charm Pull Card tied with a little bit of Baker’s Twine.  Cut the saucer from red paper and sponge the design on with red ink. Then die cut the saucer with a circle die.

To hold the Gift Card, I die cut the flourishes from  the Oval Landscape Accordion and glued them down just at the three tips.  It’s so cute – but I ended up using a small glue dot on the card to keep it from slipping during mailing.

Hope you’ve enjoyed today’s Pop It Up Wednesday!

Inset Butterfly

Butterfly Basics 05

I saw this idea on several sites and had to make one.  The die is cut out and replaced over a sponged background.  It gives the prettiest effect!

Think of all the color combinations you could use!  Or you could just leave it white and do this –

The center of the butterfly is fishing string coated with glitter.  The bottom of the card is Karen Burniston’s Agatha Edges.

Some pretty ideas to try!  Hugs, Fran

Serene Silhouettes

Serene Silhouette 01

I was messing around with my airbrush system and came up with this card.  I airbrushed several yellow and orange shades of Copic markers on to a piece of Whisper White and then placed and stencil over the top and pounced blender solution over the entire thing, Once it dried, I stamped Serene Silhouettes on the background.

The stencil was one that, I think, came in a magazine!  All I was looking for was an interesting texture and I think you could use any stencil to create this look.  Hugs, Fran

Helping Me Grow

Helping Me Grow 01

Helping Me Grow is found on page 20 of the Occasions Mini.  I cased the  Mini Treat Bag shown there and it it so cute@  Using watercolor paper, I stamped the image in Stazon ink and water colored it using ink and an aqua painter.  The little label is embossed in white and tied on the front using twine.  Hugs, Fran

Going Global

Going Global 01

I’m watercoloring the world today!  For this card I heat embossed in white on watercolor paper the World Map stamp and did a wash with Lost Lagoon, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight. Then I stamped part of the sentiment from Going Global on Black card stock and embossed it in white.  The “you” is from Hello You Thinlits.  I cut it out 3 times, coated it in Crystal Effects and attached it to the card.

All of this is mounted on a card front cut from the Heavy White card stock.  Hugs, Fran

Flower Patch Birthday

Flower Patch 04

This card uses Flower Patch and the matching die, Flower Fair Framelits.  I tried several color combinations – Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party, So Saffron and Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral and Real Red, Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder and Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine Tango.  The centers are embellished with the Metal Rimmed Pearls.  Can you think of any other good color combos?  Hugs, Fran

It’s Her Birthday

Hot Diggity Dog 04

Today is Daisy 1st Birthday!  Daisy is my sweet puppy that has had a very hard first year.  She had distemper at 4 months and was fortunate enough to survive and grow into a loving, sweep tempered dog.  These are the treats she’s taking to obedience class for her friends.

The treats are made with the Hot Diggity Dog stamp set – and 3 little treats in a cello bag.

Stenciled Hello

SAB Hello 05

I was playing with my stencils from the Dots & Stripes Decorative Masks and the Salebration set Hello and came up with these cards.  They are simply stenciled darker at top and lighter to the bottom to create a faded look.  Hello is stamped with Soft Suede.

SAB Hello 03

I had finished the stripes when it occurred to me to try the Dots.  Did you get this set during SAB?  It’s no longer available – but there are some new stamp sets and products to take it’s place.  You can see what’s new –US SAB_2016_2nd Release_print-friendly

Sunburst Shine

Sunburst Sayings 01

I’m still playing with glitter 🙂  This was made with a stencil that was in a kit last year.  I no longer have the kit – but I saved this stencil!  To make this card, I inked the back of the stencil with Versamark and adhered it to a piece of card stock that was covered with Elizabeth Craft Design double sided adhesive.  The gold glitter was poured over the open spaces and then the stencil was carefully removed.  Then the rest of the adhesive was glittered with Cool White glitter.  Shine!  I embossed in gold the greeting from Sunburst Saying (Occasions Mini) and popped it up in the center of the sunburst.  Confession – it would have been really smart to add the sentiment before I covered the space with glitter – but I didn’t!  It’s stuck but it would have been easier the other way!  Have a sparkly day!  Hugs, Fran

Resist Hello

SAB Hello 04

So while I was wandering around Pinterest, I saw a beautiful card done by Jennifer McGuire (I think!) using the resist technique.  This is where you heat emboss your image and sponge (or brayer) ink over the image and the ink “resists” your embossing.  I tried it with the Saleabration set Hello.  I stamped the image over the front of the card, embossed in white, and sponged with Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay.  The result was a bright, happy card!  The sentiment is from Timeless Love – one of my favorite sentiments!.  This Hello set is only available for a few more days!  Need it?  Yes you do – and you need to hurry!  Hugs, Fran
