Shake It!

The theme for the Karen Burniston Design Team this month is to make a shaker card!

My first card is a shaker using the Bayou Animals Frog and the Crosshatch Label die.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp’s Toady Unfrogettable.

Inside I have another little frog.

I also created a full shaker using Pawsome Stamps Coffee Besties.

Inside is the Karen Burniston Coffee die holding a gift card!

This is one of my favorite dies.

And the shaker front make it more fun :).

Make sure to check out the other design team members creations! Karen will post on Wednesday. Hugs, Fran

A Little Bit of Love

This 3 x 3 shaker note is perfect to tuck in a package for your Valentine.  I started with a 3 x 6 piece of Real Red, scored at 3″ to make a little note card.  I already had the negative of a square, cut from another project so I trimmed it down to 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 and put a piece of acetate on the back.  Using the foam strips, I made a box on the back and filled it with little shaker bits and some heart from the Confetti Hearts punch.  After adhering a piece of white card stock to seal it up, I die cut a Red Glimmer Love to the front and a white embossed You from Crazy About You.  Hugs, Fran

Chicken Love

I needed a funny Valentine for someone special so I decided to use the crazy chicken in Hey Chick (Salebration) to peek out and send my love.  (You can click on the picture to make it larger ) This is a 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 card with the “love” part done as a shaker.  I arranged the letters with a heart from Sweet & Sassy framelits and cut them out of Real Red.  The chicken is stamped on the backing of the shaker and a few hearts are attached to the top of the transparency.  The letters are filled with sequins.  Then I used the left over letters to make this card –

The DSP on both cards is Sending Love from the Occasions Mini.  Hugs, Fran

My jar is full of hearts!  This new set is called Jar of Love and it has a matching die – making it easy to create shaker cards.  For this one, I started with a notecard.  Die cut the image from some Designer Series paper and cover the opening with window sheet.  Stamp your sentiment in Stazon and let it dry.  (If you don’t get it exactly right the first time, you can wipe it off using rubbing alcohol)  Use the new adhesive strips to go around the area on the back and fill with hearts in Pool Party, Real Red and Silver Glimmer paper.  Adhere to the notecard and shake!  Hugs, Fran

Sparkle, shake and shimmer!  I saw this idea on stage at convention, done by Shelly (!) and decided to make it mine 🙂  Using Marquee Messages, I water colored the image and cut out the middle to make it a shaker.  There are lot of sequins inside and some confetti from the new Sprinkles punch.  A person who is thinking while creating would have stamped the greeting on the window sheet – or not.  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran
