Paper Pros July Challenge – The 30 Minute Challenge

Set your timers! Today’s challenge is to make a card using a Karen Burniston’s die in 30 minutes. Often the Karen Burniston cards are very decorative but sometimes time consuming (worth it) but we wanted to show you it is possible to make a card in just 30 minutes. I used the new Triple Flip die, Sweet Treat Charms and You’re Sweet word die to create a simple and fast card!

I alternated between the scalloped and cut out frames – making my die cutting time go faster. Cute and Easy! Once all my frames were created, I added some white gel pen and embellishment. It’s a great die! Make sure to check out all the other Paper Pros fast – but cute – cards! Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros April Challenge – Easter

This month’s Paper Pro’s challenge is Easter! I started with some Karen Burniston Crosshatch Ovals to make a focal point.

The greeting comes from the Easter Charms dies, the eggs from the Spring Animal die and the tulips from the Garden Charms die. The scallop is from the Borders Blends Argyle die set. I blended the the sentiment with Stampin Up inks to add interest.

Inside I used the Oval Frames die with the darling Spring Animals! I chose to have the frame lift up. (Watch Karen’s video on YouTube)

Here’s a look at how the mechanism works. It’s so much fun! Make sure to check out the other Pro’s and get ready for Easter! Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros March Challenge – It’s Spring!

Well the weather is “spring” but the Paper Pros group is ready for Spring cards! I started with the Karen Burniston Circle Tag book and Garden Charms.

I added some little pearls to the center of the flowers to make them pop.

Inside I continued to decorate with the Garden Charms.

I added some little details to the charms – gel pen on the glove and flowers and black ink on the watering can.

Make sure to check out the all the Pros creations. This will cure those winter woes! Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros December Challenge – Holidays

It’s that time of year – a Paper Pros Challenge!  This month is Holidays and I dug through my stash to make a Christmas card.  I used the Karen Burniston Merry Christmas word die and the Snowman’s hat for the front of my card.  (This paper is retired!)  I stacked the word die 3-4 high to make it stand out.

Inside is a cute KB Snowman Twist popping out to send wishes!  He’s surrounded by some snowflakes and has finally found his hat!

I love his cute little face!  Make sure to check out the other Paper Pro challenge cards for some more inspiration.  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros October Challenge – Holiday Cheer

Holiday Cheer!  I made a Christmas card for this challenge using Mama Elephant’s Little Elf Agenda and Karen Burniston’s Sleigh die!  The card is 5 1/4 x 5 and the front also features the KB Outdoor Scenes and Nature Edges dies AND the new Merry Christmas die.  The Merry Christmas is 3 layers stacked and covered with Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents.  These elves are getting ready to load the sleigh!

Inside I used the Sleigh die with all the elves busy, busy, loading away.  The elves were colored with Copic markers and the sleigh is the SU Galvanized Metal paper and Real Red.  Check out the other Paper Pro’s Holiday Cheer cards for some great inspiration!  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros September Challenge – Seeing Spots

This month’s Paper Pro challenge is Seeing Spots!  I started with 2 card bases that I had sitting on my desk just waiting for something like this!  I had used Distressed Oxide ink to make a panel and then die cut it with MFT’s Peek a Boo Polka Dot background.  One card got the “spots” and the other got the “holes.”  I grabbed these card bases and added the Karen Burniston Katherine Label label to them and added some cut Prickly Pear Coffee Cups colored with Copic markers.

The inside for this card……

I lined the card with some Lemon Lime Twist paper and used the Katherine Label die to create the inside lift.  Then I decided to repeat the design on this card –

So I did this……..

The only change was the color of the arm that lifts the piece.  Do you have a preference?  Make sure to check out all the Paper Pro designs this month!  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros August Challenge – Anything Goes!

Anything goes?  OK!  The Paper Pros are playing this month with whatever we want!  I chose the Karen Burniston Katherine Label and Mermaid and Princess dies to create an underwater scene.  I started with a background created with Distress Oxide inks and then stamped the vines from Magical Mermaid along the bottom. I added some color with my Copic markers and the sentiment is on vellum from Magical Mermaids.  The little fish are from the Stampin Up Under the Sea die.  The mermaid tails are from the KB Mermaid and Princess die- colored with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen.

Inside I continued the scene the same way, adding a full mermaid near the sentiment.

Here’s a close up of the sentiment on vellum.  Make sure to check out what the other designers have done this month!  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros Challenge – Halloween

Today is the Paper Pros Challenge and it’s Halloween!  The first thing I thought of when I saw Stampin Up’s Season to Sparkle was The Phantom of the Opera 🙂  So here’s my Phantom card.  The card is a 5 x 7 and has a circle die cut from the front.  The chandelier  is die cut twice – once for the outside (which is mostly trimmed away) and one for the inside.  I covered the chandelier with Glossy Accents and sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds.  The jewel border was die cut, colored with Copics and adhered to the top. The graveyard scene is from Karen Burniston’s Halloween Scene die.  First I stamped the Basic Gray card stock using the Marbled background stamp, then I die cut it.  The sentiment is embossed in white on black card stock.

On the inside I used Karen Burniston’s Katherine Label die so the chandelier swings above the cemetery as it’s opening.  The little spiders dangle as it moves.  The creates are an Art Impressions stamp – Spooktacular – colored with Copies and fussy cut.  Make sure you check out all the other Halloween creations!  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros Challenge – PI day

It’s Pi day and the Paper Pros are celebrating !  I started with Karen Burniston’s Rectangular Pull card and the Lawn Fawn Science of Love stamp set.  I drew the chalk board on some Basic Black card stock.

The paper is the In Color envelope paper – lots of cute designs.  I did the sentiment on my computer.

The inside has more images from the stamp set and a paper pieced pie.

So you decide which PI is for you!  Make sure to check out the other Paper Pros take on this challenge.  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros – Shake It Up

Today I’m participating in a Paper Pros challenge – Shake it Up!  I chose a birthday shaker featuring Rocky the Crab popping out of the ocean to wish you a great day!  I used a nestled stitched square for the shaker part and Karen Burniston’s Rocky the Crab, Palm Tree & Pail, and Beach Edges and Agatha Edges (bottom of card)  to decorate it.  The Happy Birthday is from the Stampin Up SAB set Designer Tees.  Perhaps a bit too much shaker bits (again!) but boy does it shake!  And that’s the point 🙂   You can find all the shaker madness by clicking the links below.  Hugs, Fran
