The holidays are coming – and fast! Today is the November Challenge for the Karen Burniston Design Team and we are accordion dies to make holiday cards. I chose the Charm Accordion die and Winter Charms!
I started with the Simon Says Stamp Candy Cane Background and embossed it in white over the entire card. Then I added the Winter Charms and Holiday Greetings from Karen Burniston.
I used the Charms for the small and large images.
The hanging charms are tied on with linen thread. The “icing” is white gel pen.
The sentiment is Simon Says Stamp Christmas Squad – worked great! Make sure to check out the rest of the team’s creations. Karen will post her’s tomorrow. Hugs, Fran
There are new dies being released from Karen Burniston! Fun! This one features the Flap and Closure die that makes a cute envelope for a lot of dies – especially this one :). I started this with a 5 x 5 base and added one flap closure and the Happy Birthday die!
Inside is the Parcel Pop Up holding a gift card! The card moves up and down as you open and close the card.
While I had my supplies out, I decided to create another Parcel Pop Up card. This one also features the Lawn Fawn Mushroom House and Mushroom Border stamps and dies along with the Karen Burniston Word Set 1 – Greetings die.
I gave the mushrooms some dimension with fun foam.
Inside I used the Mushroom House over the pop up mechanism so the gnomes move up and down!
The little sign is included with the Parcel Pop Up die! So stay tuned to see the complete line of new dies from Karen Burniston! Hugs, Fran
My youngest got married earlier this month and I wanted to make them a card so I used the Karen Burniston Katherine Label and Prickly Pear’s Truck stamp (on sale right now!) to create this! It’s a 5 x 5 pop up – and the truck is on a wobbler! I also added the Karen Burniston Congrats to the bottom.
So the truck wiggles as it moves down the road. I used the Karen Burniston Crosshatch Circle dies to make to opening!
It’s up on some fun foam and the glass areas have Crystal Effects on them. The sign is popped up even more on foam tape.
The fun continues on the inside as the truck lifts up when you open it.
You can see some of the action here.
Love the motion the Katherine Label creates! And this cute stamp says it all! Hugs, Fran
Today the Karen Burniston Design Team is working with Pear Blossom Press to create a fun, light up card! And there are prizes! I started with a plaid stamp on red card stock and some darling gingerbread men from the Christmas Charms die set.
I stacked the gingerbread men 3 high to give them some dimension and punched a 2 1/2″ circle punch from the red to make a “plate.”
Inside I used the Ice Cream Sundae die and the Castle to create a gingerbread scene. The Train and Train Elements dies create the bottom. To do the fun lights, the Press are is in the bottom left and the string goes up to the windows. These are fun and easy lights to use because one battery holds 3 lights – and it’s all ready to use! (No copper tape!)
So you just press on the circle and the castle lights up!
Here’s the train bringing your presents! Too cute! Enjoy all the Karen Burniston / Pear Blossom Press creations!

Howdy, folks! They say it’s fall even though the temperatures are still not wanting to leave summer. I made a fall card for the challenge using a few Dress up Riley Farmer stamps and dies and the Karen Burniston Spinner Square die. Forgive the front picture – I was on my own taking the photo!
Inside you can see this cute farmer showing off the pick of his crop. The basket swings down when the card is open. So fun! Hugs, Fran
This is a perfect challenge for me because my youngest is getting married on our farm this fall! I started with the Happily Ever After die and a flower punch to create a shower card. This card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.
Inside I have the Barn die with the bride and groom from the Cake die on the doors. These doors are so much fun because the open and close. I also added a banner using the Cake Trim die and Birds from the Outdoor Scenes die.
The little wreath is from the Christmas Animals die. Lots of fun! Make sure to check out the other Farm cards for this challenge. And don’t miss Karen’s card which will be posted tomorrow! Hugs, Fran
Set your timers! Today’s challenge is to make a card using a Karen Burniston’s die in 30 minutes. Often the Karen Burniston cards are very decorative but sometimes time consuming (worth it) but we wanted to show you it is possible to make a card in just 30 minutes. I used the new Triple Flip die, Sweet Treat Charms and You’re Sweet word die to create a simple and fast card!
I alternated between the scalloped and cut out frames – making my die cutting time go faster. Cute and Easy! Once all my frames were created, I added some white gel pen and embellishment. It’s a great die! Make sure to check out all the other Paper Pros fast – but cute – cards! Hugs, Fran
This month’s Karen Burniston Challenge is to use photos. Easy to do with the upcoming Photo Collage die!
The front is a very simple punch art paw print using paper from my stash. The sentiment is from Stampin Up’s Happy Tails.
Inside is a photo collage of my youngest’s crazy dog – Filbert! I also added a puppy and some elements from the Dog and Cat die. This die is so much fun because it’s easy to put together but looks like a masterpiece! My favorite kind of die 🙂
Enjoy all the creations from the team – and Karen’s video will be posted tomorrow. Hugs, Fran
There is a new release coming out from Karen Burniston at KB Riley. I started with the revamp of her Barn die, Farm Edges and Happy Birthday die. I added some balloons from the Birthday Charms dies. This card is 5 x 7.
Look at the cute animals! I used the new Cow and Goat, and Chicken Pig and Lamb dies to create them. The sentiment comes from the new Enjoy the Ride die.
The sliding door on the barn actually slide. Here it is closed.
And here it is open!
Lots of fun new things to show you! Fun! Hugs, Fran
