Follow the Rainbow

We all need some rainbow right now! Here’s a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 card using the Karen Burniston Tile Pattern Plate to create a rainbow front for my fun peacock!

The first 4 colors were cut twice and pieced together so they would stretch across the entire card. Each piece was then die cut with the Crosshatch Circle.

The Peacock is from Feathered Animals and the sentiment is a sentiment strip from Simon Says Stamp. I added a few pearls so the peacock didn’t get lost in all the color.

Inside is the Paper Frames die – cut from the different colors and pieced together to echo the rainbow theme.

The peacocks actually stand out better on the white. Those cute hearts are from the Paper Frames die set 🙂

It was easy to piece this together, but I rescored things with a stylus before I started to fold it.

Enjoy! Hugs, Fran

I Scream, You Scream

We all scream for ice cream! It’s warming up outside – finally – and an Ice Cream Sundae inspired birthday card was needed. This card uses the the Karen Burniston Ice Cream Sundae die and Happy Birthday. I also incorporated the Crosshatch Circle.

There is SO much movement with this die! On the inside top I used the Border Blends Party die to create the scallop and the You’re Sweet sentiment die.

Just a fun pic of my ice cream bowl :). Enjoy! Hugs, Fran

Pattern Plates – KB Design Team Challenge

The Karen Burniston Challenge this month is to use the Pattern Plates. I started with the Tile Plate and used the Crosshatch Rectangle dies to create a cut out center and to make a frame. The background piece was done with Distressed Oxide inks and sprinkled with water.

The flowers are from the Flowers and Bee die and the sentiment is die cut 3 times and stacked from the Word Set 8 – Congrats.

The inside used the Ups Daisy die to lift the sentiment into the air.

You can see the mechanism here.

It makes a cute card. Make sure to check out the rest of team’s Pattern Plates designs. And, as always, Karen’s card will be out on Wednesday! Enjoy! Hugs, Fran

Happy Hearts

I love the Tag Book die! For this card I used it to make a Valentine.

I used the Karen Burniston Love die on a Honey Bee Stamps Heart and Scallop Heart die.

Inside I used the KB Heart Pivot die! Super fun!

It’s fun and uses some different Valentine colors. Hope you enjoy! Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Design Team Challenge – Double Double

Todays challenge is to make a card that uses a die twice – double double. I started with a 5 x 5 base and used a Tropical Scenes die to make the scallop and the Flap Closure die to make the tie part. :).

Even with the “double die” insert, it’s incredibly flat. (Kind of a sneak peek!)

And inside is a cute little piggy! Made with the Surprise Ball, this pig is holding a cupcake and ready to celebrate. Here are some notes – the ears are from the Mermaid die and the hands and feet are from the Barn die (sliding door).

I used the You’re Sweet die to decorate the inside, along with a banner from the cupcake die. I forgot to show you the tail! Its the swirl also found in the cupcake die set! Make sure to check out the rest of the team’s creations! Karen’s video will be up tomorrow. Hugs, Fran

You’re Sweet

Here’s a fun Valentine using the Karen Burniston Photo Collage and Love Charms dies. I started with the Honey Bee Hearts and Scallop Hearts and used the KB You’re Sweet die to decorate the front. The scallop on the side is made using the KB Tropical Scene die. The little heart with an arrow is from the Love Charms die.

I die cut all the Love Charms 4 times – from white, red, pink and blue green cardstock – and put them all together. Then all I needed to do was put them together in their photo pieces.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Word Mix 2. It creates a lot of Valentines phrases which I just keep on my desk in a bowl. Have fun creating! Hugs, Fran

Love You by the Sea

Here’s a fun Valentine from the beach! This is a 5 x 5 card featuring the fun Karen Burniston Sea Animals and Ocean Animals. I started with a background using 2 Lawn Fawn XOXO Backdrops: Landscape. The scene was built on a 4 1/2 inch circle using the Karen Burniston Tropical Scene die. Those sweet urchins are holding die cuts from Love Charms.

The crabs were die cut from red yardstick and highlighted with Copic markers and the shark was die cut from white and colored with Copics. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn’s Love Poems.

Inside I used the KB Katherine Label die and popped Happy Valentines Day and another shark up. The circle at the bottom is die cut with the Crosshatch Circle.

The heart shaped splashes around the shark are coated with Glossy Accents.

Might be a fun idea to send to or from the beach! Hugs, Fran

December Karen Burniston Design Team Challenge – Surprise!

So it’s very shiny and folded up tight. What is it? It’s a surprise! A Surprise Pop Up Ball, that it. I started with the the Flap Closure die and made a 5 x 5 glittery snow ball enclosure

Inside I added some Mama Elephant and Simon Says Stamp stamps. Everyone is outside playing.

It’s very sparkly in real life. Hope this gives you an idea of how it looks. This is a fun die. Make sure to check out all the other designer’s cards and look for Karen’s on Wednesday! Hugs, Fran

Reindeer games

Working on Christmas cards! This one starts with the Karen Burniston Merry Christmas die – keeping it simple. The sentiment is stacked 3 high for a bit of dimension. I also added the push pin from the photo collage die.

Inside are the reindeers on the photo collage pop up. The images are from Mama Elephant – Reindeer Agenda – and colored with Copic Markers. Each one has a hand written name under it. The snowflakes are from the Winter Charms and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Holiday Greeting Mix 1. Hugs, Fran

New Karen Burniston Dies Are Here and a HOP!

There are new dies coming to the Karen Burniston world and a HOP with a prize!

Today I’m sharing one of my favorites! Take a look at the new Gift Box Pivot die!

This card starts with the Crosshatch Circle die and Mama Elephant’s Christmas Spirit stamp set and dies. The sentiment is white heat embossed from Simon Says Stamp’s Holiday Greetings Mix 1. All the images are colored with Copic Markers.

I alternated the dimension on the elves using die cut fun foam.

Inside is where the fun is located! The Gift Box Pivot makes a great background for this scene!

I decorated the panels and the frame around it with more images from the stamp set.

The Gift Boxes have darling bows and gift tags!
