It’s Fall and the Karen Burniston Design Team is creating Window cards. I chose the Rockin Rectangle and the Autumn Elements sets. I stenciled the background and used Copic markers to color the Pumpins, acorns and vines.
The coloring is hard to see through the acetate! Here’s a closer look.
Inside the piece “rocks” out to show the sentiment.
Here are the pumpkins with no acetate.
Make sure you check out the other designer cards! Karen’s will be posted on Wednesday. Hugs, Fran
These use the same layout and same die to get two different looks.
For the Halloween card I used a lawn fawn stencil to ink the sky in Wilted Violet, Crackling Campfire and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide inks. I used the Long Nature Edges 2 to die cut the tree line in black. The fence, pumpkinseed bats were die cut with Haunted Tiny House Add-ons and the sentiment is from Happy Halloween. They are matted on the Long Rectangles- Crosshatch. Very spooky!
To change the look but use the same dies, I stenciled the sky in blue and cut the Long Nature Edges 2 in green and brown. Trim the trees from the green and add the brown behind it. Then add the fence, pumpkins and bird in autumn colors. Autumn Blessings is from Word Set 7-Autumn. This is all matted on green Long Rectangles – Crosshatch.
So if you’ve made a design you like, copy it into different seasons or holidays! Hugs, Fran
It’s the Riley Company Day at Simon Says Stamp! I have some cards to share with this darling, limited time set.
This card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 and starts with the Simon Says Stamp Open Grid background and the Happy Birthday die. The opening in this card is made with the Karen Burniston Crosshatch Circle die. And the image is the new Riley and Company I Like You stamp set!
The sentiments in this set are just wonderful and funny! I used the Karen Burniston Katherine Label on the inside to lift the image. The image is colored with Copic markers and the glasses are coated with Glossy Accents.
I also made a mini slimline card with the I Like You image and Simon’s Slimline Sun Rays stencil. Love this sentiment! Enjoy the release and remember that it is a limited time stamp set! Hugs, Fran
The Karen Burniston theme this month is Sunny or Snowy. I chose…….
snowy! Using the Snowflake Pattern Plate, Iron Fence, Street lantern, Long Nature Edges, and Merry Christmas I created a 6 x 6 card based on snow. The Pattern Plate is dry embossed for my background.
Inside I have Santa decking the halls. “Deck” is made with the Alphabet die.
The lanterns are made from strips of card stock attached to printer paper and then die cut.
Santa is made with the Exact Pack 6 card stock. I love this card stock :). Make sure to check out the other designers sunny or snowy cards! Hugs, Fran
Today I’m sharing these Tiny Gnomes in a summer setting. Using the new Karen Burniston Tiny Gnomes, Hello, and Long Nature Edges 2 I created a card with lots of color.
Inside I used the new Garden Bench. The “Groovy” and pillows are made with a piece of paper covered with strips of card stock to make a striped design.
The little gnomes are sitting together with a pop up feature that is included with the die.
The “hope you’re feeling” sentiment was done on a label maker!

This is a large card – 8 1/2 x 5 1/2. I used the Tiny Gnomes, Crosshatch Circles and the Merry Christmas with the new Shadow to create the front.
I also added the gingerbread and candies from the new Gingerbread Tiny House Add-ons. The large, red circle is the flap to hold the card shut.
The sentiment was done in brown to mimic gingerbread.
Inside has Mrs. Claus baking away! I used the Bitty Ball with Character Add-ons 2 to create her and the Gingerbread Tiny House Add-ons with the Tiny House die to make her Gingerbread house.
She also has a tray of gingerbread cookies.
Here is the Gingerbread House.
There are more Tiny Gnomes celebrating with her and the word Celebrate curved around the circle.

Today is the Design Team challenge at Karen Burniston – and the challenge is to use any of the Tag Book dies. Here’s what I came up with –
I used the Tag Book and Flower Pivot Panels to make my card. The background is foiled using the Flower Pattern Plate and gold foil.
Inside is the Flower Pivot Panel. To make the panel, I started with white card stock and stenciled a few clouds. Then I die cut the panel in green, ran it through my machine again with the Nature Edges die and attached the two together.
Close up of the foiling.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this challenge card. Make sure to check out all the Design Team’s cards and, as always, Karen’s card will be posted on Wednesday . Hugs, Fran
Set the Scene is the challenge and I’ve created a Slimline Flaps and Frame card using the Princesses and Knights in the Castle for you.
For this card I combined the top two Flaps. I used the Word Set 5- Royalty for the sentiment. “Queen” is die cut from silver foil and backed is dark gray. The “for a day” is inset into the white banner.
The bottom two Flaps are more images from the set. The tops of the castle have been cut apart so the Flaps can open.
Inside the large, top Flap is the Castle die!
This might give you a better idea of how it looks from the top.
So this is my scene! Make sure to check out the cards from the other designers. Karen’s card will post on Wednesday! Hugs, Fran

I started with the Sassy and Crafty Have a Cow stamp and the Karen Burniston Barn Pop Stand.
I colored the cute cow with Copic markers and added him to the front created with Natures Edges and Farm Edges dies. I stacked the “howdy” 3 high and added it to the front.
I used the other cow image for the inside and paired him with the Barn Pop Stand.
The barn doors can open and closed but I chose to close them. There’s so much detail on the barn!
I love this image! The sentiment is from the stamp set.
My next card uses the Sassy and Crafty Build a Snowman stamp with the Snowman Twist Circle die from Karen Burniston.
I stenciled the background with the Sassy and Crafty Flowing Swirl Stencil and added the darling images from the Build a Snowman stamp set. They are holding flowers from the Backyard Charms dies. Spring is on it’s way!
The images were colored with Copic markers.
Inside I used the Snowman Twist Circle die to make the pop up. The snowman is embellished with pieces from the Build a Snowman stamp set. The background is also stenciled with the Flowing Swirl stencil.
Isn’t he cute? 🙂
Don’t forget to leave a comment! You will have the chance to win one of two $25 Gift Certificates to use on the Karen Burniston (KB Riley) website or one of two $25 Gift Certificates to use on Sassy and Crafty website.
Today, the Karen Burniston Design Team challenge is to share any of the new release dies! I chose the Waterfall Card die.
I started with the Flower Plate background die, Castle die, and Princess and Mermaid. The “hello” is from the Summer Words.
I used glue to attach the Flower Plate so it doesn’t interfere with the motion of the Waterfall. The Castle Pop Up is used flat.
It tells a little story by using the Knight and Dragon on the inside.
All the cute edges in the Waterfall Card die make this so fun to use!
And here they live happily ever after! :).
I made this on a top fold card so you can write a note inside. Make sure to check out the other designer’s card! Karen’s card will be posted on Wednesday. Hugs, Fran
