Home for Halloween

The Karen Burniston Design Team is getting spooky today with a Halloween card challenge!

My card is a 5 x 7 and starts with the Castle Pop Up used as a background. The clouds are stenciled in Seedless Preserves, Crackling Campfire and Mustard Seed and the moon is die cut using the Crosshatch Circle. The smaller bats are from the Haunted Tiny House Add On and the larger are from Halloween Scene. The grass is from Long Nature Edges. I dotted the sky with a glaze pen.

Inside features the Vampire (Character Add On 1) and more bats! My vampire has bats floating above him on an acetate strip. Happy Halloween was die cut and inked.

I like having the Flap and Closure flap go from the front to the back – leaving the entire front open to decorate. On the inside I stenciled the clouds with white ink on to black card stock and added another “moon.”

Isn’t he handsome? Make sure to check out all the design team creations! It’s spooky fun! Karen’s card will be available tomorrow. Hugs, Fran

Scary Pumpkin Greetings

This card starts with the Holiday House, House and Fence, and Halloween Scene dies. I masked a moon off from the background and used a cloud stencil to decorated the background. I mounted it on to a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card with a Flap Closer going to the back.

Inside I have the Character Add-ons 1 pumpkin popping up.

The scene from the front is just extended to the inside. The Character Add-ons 1 will be available to order on August 9th. Hugs, Fran

KB Design Team Challenge – G-G-G-Ghosts

It’s time for another Karen Burniston Design Team Challenge and this month it’s Ghosts!  I’ve create a large 6 x 6 Basic Black card stock base card to share today.  The tombstones from the Halloween Scene dies were stamped in Basic Gray ink on Smoky Slate card stock using SU’s Marbled background stamp.  The bats and pumpkin are from Halloween Elements and the fence is from Karen’s House & Fence Pop Up.  The background is Distressed Oxide inks pounced and sprayed  and smooched until I liked the results 🙂  I added black Nuvo drops scattered around the scene.

The inside uses Karen’s Flower Pot die as a big tombstone with ghosts flying out of it!  I repeated most of the outside elements to the inside and added some retired Halloween stamps as a greeting.

The ghosts are attached to strips of acetate to make them float.  The bricks on the tombstone/flower pot are done with SU’s brick stencil and embossing paste tinted with Smoky Slate re-inker.   I went over the bats and pumpkins with Shimmer pen – gotta have glitter!

Have fun checking out all the other spooky creations from the team!  Hugs, Fran
