Celebrating a New Release

There’s a new release for Karen Burniston dies coming soon and today I’m showing the Slim Flaps and Frames. This is a fun die that offers a lot of real estate for decorating.

I also used the Mini Pops, Natures Edges, Happy Birthday, Celebrate and balloons from the Explosion die.

Isn’t this fun? So much room!

Here are all the dies in this new release – Have fun checking them out! Hugs, Fran

April Yummy!

The theme this month for the Karen Burniston Design team is Yummy! What a fun theme!

I started with a 5 x 5 base and printed a circle of Happy Birthdays in a circle. Using the Crosshatch Circle dies, I die cut a transparency and attached the French fries around the cute hamburger from the Fast Food Charms. I used a small spinner piece to the center – and it spins!

Inside I used the Explosion die to create a fun scene. The Celebrate word die is at the top and the border is from Border Blends – Party. The little “let’s” was printed out on my letter printer.

I even added some doughnuts and watermelon from the Sweet Treats Charms die.

Lots of fun! Make sure to check out all the other amazing cards from the Karen Burniston design team. Karen will post on Wednesday! Hugs, Fran

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C450 Techniques

I have been invited by Raquel to Guest Design for Crazy 4 Challenges this month!  The first challenge is to make a card using any technique – old or new.  So I decided on stenciling using embossing paste.  The stencil I used was actually cut using a new Stampin Up background die, Blizzard Thinlits die.  I cut it out of a heavy weight card stock and used Nuvo Glimmer paste in Silver Gem.

The silver embossed sentiment is the coordinating set from Stamp Up – Beautiful Blizzard – and is mounted on silver card stock die cut with the Karen Burniston Crosshatch Circle and surrounded with rhinestones.  (p.s. Silver is hard to photograph!)

Inside I used the new Karen Burniston Explosion die to make this fun design!  I popped up snowflakes and used the silver embossed sentiment from the same set as the front of the card.

I also added a Stampin Up border using Delicate Borders die.  The snowflakes are backed on an acetate circle to give them some added strength.  Check all the Crazies and see what techniques they used for this challenge!  Hugs, Fran
