Zentangle

This is a technique that was shown on Sudsol – a demo only group.  The idea is to take an open image stamp and sort of “doodle” in the image.  I used Flower Shop (because that’s what was shown!) and gave it a try.  I love the way it came out!

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Flower Shop, Stippled  Blossoms
Card stock – Pear Pizzazz, Basic Black, Whisper White, Strawberry Slush
Ink – Jet Black Stazon, Pear Pizzazz, Strawberry Slush
Etc – Basic Black SWM, Pear Chevron Ribbon, In Color Dahlia

Tonight is the Catalog Preview for those of us lucky enough to get to go!  It’s so hard to believe that a new catalog is right around the corner.  I moved my retired sets off my shelf this morning – sad, sad, sad!  But I’m looking forward to seeing what’s new!  Hugs, Fran

  1. I’ve been a Zentangle fan for a couple of years and I think this way of “doodling” is fabulous. I’ve done some cards using this fun and creative technique and they always come out great. The Secret Garden stamp set is another perfect set for Zentangle because the open image flowers have enough space to doodle away. One of the great things about this is that no two cards or images will ever be alike.
Thanks Fran for sharing your beautiful card, I hope this inspires others to look this up, there is a lot of great books and products for this fun technique.

  2. Wow Maria!  I had not seen this technique before – so it’s new to me.  Great suggestions on the different stamp sets that work with this technique.  I’ll have to look into it a bit more.  Hugs, Fran
