The Size of a Card

I cased one of the Happy Watercolor cards in the Occasions Mini and was surprised to find that it just didn’t look “right.”  I had used a 1/2 sheet of Whisper White – and the card in the mini was on a notecard (31/2 x 5).  So I thought I’d show you the difference.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Happy Watercolor
Card stock – Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron
Ink – Pool Party, Smokey Slate, Versamark
Etc – Gold embossing powder

Actually, I think I used Basic Gray on the smaller card!  So which look do you like best?  Hugs, Fran

  1. Thanks for the info and comparison. It really makes a difference for how a card looks. I personally like the Smoky Slate better. Love your stampin style!

  2. It really does make a difference on the size! I cased a card once and did the same as you by not realizing it was on the smaller notecards.

Thank you for sharing. This is very pretty!

  3. I like the effect on the smaller size better because the proportions fit the white space. It’s probably me, but I can’t see the Basic Gray, or is the Card Stock Smoky Slate? Nevertheless, thanks for the comparison. I appreciate your blog and love your style! Nancy B

  4. Thanks Nancy – the Gray is the flower stem and outline of the flower.  It is really hard to tell!  Hugs, Fran

  5. I like the smaller size cards. I often change up the size from the regular 4.25×5.5. I think many designs work better with a smaller size such as the one you did here. And I really think making 3×3 cards is so much fun!!!!

  6. I agree!  It’s fun to do little designs.   (Not to mention fast!)  Hugs, Fran

  7. I liked the first one then saw 2nd one the size did make a difference that I didn’t realize thank you
