A friend and I were trying to figure out this fold that we saw on Pinterest. It’s really 2 cards – one cut 5.5 x 8.5 and the other cut 5 1/4 x 4. I used Cool Kids (because it hasn’t seen as much ink as it should!) and Peachy Keen to make the background design. To make the “cut” on the front I marked the open side at 2 3/4 and then the top and bottom at 2 3/4. Once this was cut, I die cut the opening with a Square Framelit.
Supplies
Stamp Sets – Cool Kids, Peachy Keen, Yippee-Skippee
Cardstock – Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink – Jet black Stazon, Melon Mambo
Etc – Distressed Dots embossing fold, Sqaure Framelit, Neutral Button
I may go back and put a paper airplane on the front too. Kind of looks like the poor kitty is playing with string! Hugs, Fran
Love this fold! Can you go into more details on how it’s done?
Sure! The Melon Mambo piece is a regular card base ( 5.5 x 8.5 folded in half) Mark the long side on the open edge (where the button is on the photo) at 2 3/4. On both the top and bottom edge mark at 2 3/4″ and then trim from the top to the center (where the button is) and then the bottom to the center – making a “point.” Pick a square framelit to fit in the square. (It really doesn’t matter the size – that is determined by the image you want to use.) The inner piece is 5 1/4 x 8 1/4 folded in half and inserted to the inside of the card. Let me know if this doesn’t make sense! Hugs, Fran
Thank you for sharing this wonderful card…and for the instructions….definitely will be trying to recreate this one….!
