Oooooh!  You’re going to love the new Fry Box Bigz die in the new catalog!  This sweet treat die is SO EASY to put together!  And it stands flat – a definite plus for boxes.  I used a piece of Pistachio Pudding cardstock that was already stamped with Regarding Dahlias from another project.  I add some decorations and place a tag on the front stamped with the new Fast Food Friends stamp.  The twisty on the cello bag was done by covering a twist tie with new Sweet Sadie washi tape – and then all tied up with Strawberry Slush and Pistachio Pudding thick Baker’s Twine.  Some shred finishes it off!

Here are all the new In Colors in one card!  The original idea for this card came from Mary Brown.  Her card used 3 of the new colors – I simply expanded on the idea and used all 5.  Love that!

Welcome to a new catalog year!  Here is a banner I made to greet my Open House guests today.  You can find all of the elements to create banners on pages 202-203 in the NEW catalog.  They are easy to make and add a wonderful splash of color to any area.  The flowers on the banner can be seen here.  Since they are on clothespins, I can use them for other things when I decide to take this banner down. 

The colors for the backgrounds of the banner are from left to right, Tangerine Tango, Melon Mambo, Delightful Daffodil, and Rich Razzleberry.  The funny part is that I used the new In Color Blackberry Bliss to make the purple flowers.  (Not because I intended too – just getting old!)  Hugs, Fran

I’m not a good Brayer

Well, not according to my kiddos – but according to this card!  Since Lovely as a Tree is still in the new catalog and it’s been hinted that it will NEVER retire, I decided to give it some ink.  I stumbled across some glossy card stock in my stash and thought I’d do a brayered card.  It is a sad thing.  The idea is nice – but sheesh – I need to pull that brayer out and go to a remedial brayer class.

Since it is so close to the launch of the new catalog – I’m dragging through my folder of “things I haven’t posted” to make sure I share the rest of the retiring things I have left to share.  And then I came upon this – a pineapple box made from the absolutely adorable Polka Dot DSP and an svg file from SVGcuts.com.  (Fruity Fiesta)  This is perfect for a summer party – and it’s a box!  Summer party?  I stamped the front with the soon to retire Loving Thoughts.

Flower Clips

This is part of a project that I’m doing right now.  These little scallop flowers are made with the Crepe paper filters and punch with the largest Scallop punch.  I punched 8 for each flower and sprayed them with a mix of alcohol and reinker.  After they dried, I pierced a hole in the middle of the stack of circles and secured them with a mini brad.  Then you simply pull each layer up, one at a time, and scrunch them.  Once they are all “scrunched”, gently pull them down until you get the desired look.

I glued them onto a medium size clothes pin covered with Old Olive DSP.  These are not as big as regular clothes pins – but no where near as small as minis.  I used glue to attach them. 

I’m planning on getting this project finished today.  I have one more trip to make to my parents to finish their big move.

This card is a case of one of my own ballerina dress cards – altered to work for a bride.  I used Celebrate With Us from the Occasions Mini and a spray of small, silk flowers on the front of the exclusive – and soon to be retired!- Pop Up Card die.

Instead of a tutu, I made a long train of tulle.  You can see it better from the side –

I will sorely miss this die – but it will remain in my “stash” forever

On this card you get another glimpse of the new Blendabilities – mostly Coastal Cabana.  They are very intense colors – the lightest leaning towards almost a grayish blue.  I used the Chevron embossing folder and some Coastal Cabana thick twine to finish my card.
