Polka Dot Pieces

Polka Dot Pieces 01

Here’s my last catalog case (for now!) from page 139, using Polka Dot Pieces.  The catalog did some sewing on the bottom of the card.  I chose to machine stitch a piece of Craft card stock and then adhere it to the front.  Instead of just a piece of washi tape, I put mine across the entire front.  The ribbon on my card was Blushing Bride 1/4 cotton that I ran over my Cantaloupe Crisp ink pad.  I should have started with Whisper White ribbon – but the Blushing Bride worked.  I think I’m going to LOVE this ribbon!

Supplies

Stamp Set – Polka Dot Pieces

Card stock – Crumb Cake, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloup, Gold Gimmer, Whisper White, Gold Vellum, In Colors DSP

Ink – Baked Brown Sugar

Etc – Large Dot embossing folder, Banner Framelits, 1/4″ hole punch, sewing machine, rhinestones, Sweet Sadie washi tape

I love the combo of looks and feels on this cards.  Hugs, Fran

Mosaic Beauty

Mosaic Madness 05

This catalog case is from page 163.  I stuck to the card shown with just a few exceptions.  First of all, I embossed the Shimmery White card stock backwards.  I’d like to say I did it on purpose, but….well….you know how it goes!  So I just went with it.  The funniest part of this story is that my embossing folder had been used repeatedly with Versamark and glitter – which wasn’t completely cleaned off – so it left a beautiful soft glitter/sparkle all over the front of the card!  Love it when that happens!!

Supplies

Stamp Sets – Mosaic Madness, Lots of Thanks

Card stock – Shimmery White, Soft Sky, vellum card stock

Ink – Soft Sky, Early Espresso

Etc – Mosaic embossing folder, Beautiful Wings embosslit, Mosaic punch, pearls, aquapainter

I really like how soft this card looks – though I’m not sure I can recreate the sparkle again.  Hugs, Fran

Snapshot

Snapshot 01

Snapshot (133812) is a single stamp on page 167 of the catalog.  I paired it up with the On Film framelit and some of the Essential Wooden Elements.  I used Stazon to stamp on the word bubble.  Hint – use a tiny bit of adhesive to stick the wooden element to your grid paper.  Then you can use your Stamp a Ma Jig to place the words on it without it moving.

Snapshot 01 side

I stamped the camera twice and fussy cut the center piece to pop it up.

Supplies

Stamp Sets – Snapshot, Hip Notes

Card stock – Strawberry Slush, Bermuda Bay, Basic Black, Whisper White, Confetti Celebration

Ink – Jet Black Stazon, Memento Tux Black

Etc – On Film Framelit, Essential Wooden Embellishments, Brights Candy Dots

Great card for a belated birthday!  (I need lots of these!)  Hugs, Fran

Hot Diggity Dog Catalog Mix

Hot Diggity Dog 02

This is a semi – case card from page 109 of the catalog.  That card features Just Sayin’ – I mixed it up by featuring Hot Diggity Dog instead.  Instead of embossing the card front, I used a separate layer (5 1/2 x 3 3/4) of Smokey Slate, embossed it and adhered it to the front.  I tried a Whisper White circle for the little puppy but ended up using Crushed Curry for more color.

Supplies

Stamp Set – Hot Diggity Dog

Card stock – Smokey Slate,Basic Gray, Crushed Curry, Strawberry Slush, vellum card stock, Back to Black DSP

Ink – Memento Tux Black

Etc – Tiny Triangle embossing folder, Word Bubble framelits, 2 1/2 circle punch, Itty Bitty Accent punch

This color combo makes me happy!  Hugs, Fran

Bootiful Catalog Case

Bootiful Occasions 07

I took some time to wander through the new catalog and pick out some cards to case.  This card is based on the sample on page 137.  I changed a few things – the card base color from Pool Party to Coastal Cabana, the boot to Baked Brown Sugar and the masked stars to the new In Color sequins.

Well Worded Friends

Well Worded 01

Well Worded has a cute mustache and a framelit to match!  I wrote the sentiment out in My Digital Studio, leaving a space for the mustache, and added to the front of this 5 x 5 card.

Stampin Frenzy

These kids are stampin!

I had the delightful experience of providing a make and take for a high school youth group/choir.  They are from Church of the Savior in Montgomery, Ohio, and took a break at our farm during their travels and we stamped and visited at our log house.  There were about 47 kids. With a minute of instruction, I turned them lose!

Here are the samples I had out for them.

Blessed By God 01

Blessed By God 02

Blessings From Heaven

The cards use an assortment of retired card stock, Blessed by God, Trust in God, and some SVGcuts crosses.  Their cards were totally more creative than mine!  And then they sang for me!  What a treat!  Hugs, Fran

Photo Fun

Oval Accordion 03

It’s challenge time for Karen Burniston’s Design Challenge team and this month’s challenge is photos on Accordion dies!  I chose pictures from a very trip to Universal Studios and kept my Oval Accordion neutral in Basic Gray and Smokey Slate so I could add lots of fun colors and accents.

Ovl Accordion 03 front

To begin my album I embossed Smokey Slate with one of Karen’s new embossing folders, added my Basic Gray strip across the middle and then die cut all the Oval Accordion Album pages.  On the front I added lots of stars, arrows and ribbons.

Oval Accordion 03 left

Can you see the lines of stars going from page to page?  Those are little stars glued to fishing line!

Ovaal Accordion 03 middle

I tied Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry ribbon in the folds and added bits of Bermuda Bay ribbon to that.

Oval Accordion 03 right

The talk bubble in this photo was actually in the picture – it just didn’t fit – so I fussy cut it and added it to the top.  (One of those “I can make it fit” moments!)  I backed all the accordions with Basic Gray.

Supplies

Card stock – Basic Gray, Smokey Slate, Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Silver Glimmer paper

Etc – Oval Accordion die, Itty Bitty star punch, What’s Up punch, MS star border punch, fishing line, Crushed Curry ribbon, Melon Mambo ribbon, Bermuda Bay ribbon, circle punch

Lots of fun going on here!

Keep in mind that my blog is being moved and things might look a bit different until it’s finished!  Hugs, Fran
