The theme this month for the Karen Burniston Design team is Yummy! What a fun theme!
I started with a 5 x 5 base and printed a circle of Happy Birthdays in a circle. Using the Crosshatch Circle dies, I die cut a transparency and attached the French fries around the cute hamburger from the Fast Food Charms. I used a small spinner piece to the center – and it spins!
Inside I used the Explosion die to create a fun scene. The Celebrate word die is at the top and the border is from Border Blends – Party. The little “let’s” was printed out on my letter printer.
I even added some doughnuts and watermelon from the Sweet Treats Charms die.
Lots of fun! Make sure to check out all the other amazing cards from the Karen Burniston design team. Karen will post on Wednesday! Hugs, Fran
Aren’t these cute? The one on the left is from a class that Karen Burniston did this weekend. She is offering a special from March 14-18th for the Just Chicken In card . By using the code CLASS you can get 15% off of all the dies used in the original card (the ones listed in the handout) PLUS the Flap and Closure. She is also offering Free US shipping for orders over $15 during those same four days, no code required. You can download the handout and watch the prep video. https://karenburniston.com/kit-instructions/. So now you have all the particulars – let me show you my cards.
Here are the chicks! They are darling and the construction is super easy with the Bitty Ball, Spring Animal and Crosshatch Circle dies.
The sentiment is done with the Alphabet and Spring Animal dies.
I decided to expand on the idea with a bunny – using Animal Add On 3.
I used the same instructions from the Chicken class to make this card.
And his little tail using the small flower from Flower and Bee.
Fun class – hop over and take a look :). Hugs, Fran
Gold! That’s my one of my favorite color combos! I started with the So Beautiful background stamp from Simon Says Stamp and colored it with an assortment of C Copic markers except the gold flower in the middle.
I added gold splatter and the Hello die from Spring Words set and then matted it on gold and black card stock.
Inside I used the Upsy Daisy dies to create some gold flowers. The background is another of the background stamps colored with only the C markers. The sentiment is from the same set.
This photo shows the gold a bit better.
I hope you like the card. Make sure to check out the other designers cards for this challenge! Karen’s card will be posted on Wednesday. Hugs, Fran
It’s almost Valentine’s Day so the Karen Burniston challenge this month is Hearts! I started with the giraffe from Safari Animals, The frame from Paper Frames and the Happy Valentine’s Day sentiment.
Inside I used the Paper Frames die and Word Set 9- Love to send sweet wishes.
To make the multi colored frame, I die it from 2 colors, cut it apart and layered one on top of the other.
Wouldn’t this be cute as a “baby” card?
Enjoy all the hearts from the team today. Karen will post of Wednesday. Hugs, Fran
I’m still using the Karen Burniston Heart Pivot and Snowman dies along with Nature Edges. I had some inked backgrounds and decided to make a different version of the last card I showed you. I also used the Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Frame,] and Bold Hello.
Inside I continued with the Heart Pivot and Snowman dies. The sequins decorating the snowflakes are Honey Bee’s Seas the Day.
These snowmen just make me happy!
Here’s another version done with pink alcohol background.
The pink was – a lot! So I turned it into a Valentine card. The Love and sentiment is from Hero Arts and the sequins are Honey Bee’s Bubble Gum.
Hope this gives you more ideas on using the Heart Pivot. Hugs, Fran
Welcome 2021! Finally :). The challenge this month was to make a Thinking of You card so I pulled out the Karen Burniston Snowmen die and got started. The border on this card was made using the Border Bends – Argyle. It’s a simple front but it worked for me.
Inside I used the Heart Pivot Panel and the Alphabet die to create a cute scene. The snowmen fit perfectly on it.
Those little snowflakes are from a bag of confetti I have in my stash – cause you just never know! Make sure to check out the other designer’s creations and, as always, Karen’s card will be posted on Wednesday. Sending lots of Happy New Year wishes your way! Hugs, Fran
Can you believe that it’s December? Even after all this staying at home, I’m surprised! Today is challenge day fro the Karen Burniston Design Team and we are creating with the new Mini Pops die. I decided to make some more tags because you can never have enough tags!!
I started with the Snowman die. To get his sweet face to “look up,” I used the face insert to stencil just the mouth first. Then I die cut them out of black card stock and added them to the face.
The hat is die cut from a circle in the Circle Crosshatch die set. It’s just large enough to look like the trim of his hat.
Inside I added the Mini Pop from vellum and added snowflakes cut from glitter paper! There are lots of snowflakes in the Karen Burniston Collection. The small ones that I used are from the Evergreen Pivot die set and the large one of the front is from Holiday Charms. The “to/from” is from Word Set 5 – Royalty. The snowbank was die cut from the Long Natures Edges.
I doubled the snowflakes on the vellum just to finish it off.
I poked two little holes in the fold to add silver thread for a hanger.
I hope you’ll try these little tags. They are so much fun to make and give! Check out all the Mini Pop ideas from the design team. Karen’s post will be up on Wednesday. Hugs, Fran
It’s starting to be the time of year when everyone is getting ready for the Holidays. On the front of this card, I used the reindeer from Karen Burniston’s Holiday Animals, gifts from Gnome and Santa and the Crosshatch Circle dies for a simple panel.
Inside all the elves are wrapping presents on the Evergreen Pivot Panel!
The colors make this card pop! :).
It was a happy surprise that they fit so well on the Evergreen Pivot! You should try it! Hugs, Fran
Here’s a cute Slimline box card with little snowmen celebrating the season. You can find the snowmen in the Snowmen dies from Karen Burniston. I used all 110 pound card stock on this card and it’s very sturdy. The center was die cut using the Long Rectangle Slimline dies with the Long Nature Edges die in front and back. The frame around the opening is 3 layers and adds a lot of stability.
You can see the dimension here. The sentiment is a strip from Simon Says Stamp Reverse Holiday.
Hopefully this shows you the construction. The front and back are 4 x 11 white card stock scored from each end at 1/2 inch and 1 inch. It was fun to make! Hugs, Fran
