This is a case of the Painter’s Palette card on page 119 on the new catalog.  I used Sweet Sugarplum and Peekaboo Peach inks with Playful Palette Designer Series paper.   Isn’t the vellum strip so pretty behind the easel?  I love how it softens the Sweet Sugarplum DSP.  This is a design I will use over and over!  Hugs, Fran

This month’s challenge is stencils!  I used Karen Burniston’s new Stage It Stencil – Cherries Layering.  This fun stencil has the cherries on one end and the stems on the other.  Put them together and this is what you get!  This card is 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 and the cherries are stenciled with pearlescent embossing paste colored with Real Red ink.  Can you see the shine?

The stems are done in Garden Green ink.  It makes such a pretty background.  Baker the Beaver is celebrating with cherry cupcakes while on an action wobble!  The cupcake is part of Baker’s die and the cherry is from Stampin Up’s Cupcake builder punch. (retiring)

Pop It Ups Design Team Challenge Day 1

The May Design Team Challenge is using the new Stage It Stencils by Karen Burniston!  These stencils are super fun!  They have 2 designs on each stencil that can be used as is or combined to make one darling design!  Today I’m using the Baby Pajamas stencil and Baby Clear stamp, along with Stampin Up’s Something for Baby stamp set and matching die all on a Accordion Rectangle card.  There’s also a surprise in the middle 🙂

This is the front.  I start by stenciling the baby pajama in pink with red hearts on my paper and then die cutting the Accordion Rectangle pieces.  The pram is stamped in Wisteria Wonder.

I sandwiched the Baker’s Twine between the patterned paper and the card stock.  Then I added some elements from Something For Baby.

Graduating Poppy

Number of Years 03

It’s graduation time and I have a few to send out.  Karen Burniston’s Poppy the Owl seemed like the perfect character to grace a graduation card!  The numbers are the Stampin Up’s Number of Year stamp set with matching die.  One of my graduates had blue and white as their school colors.  I used the Schoolhouse Designer Series paper for this one.

Poppy’s cap is made from the bowler hat in Props 1.  Karen has a diagram on her blog showing how to cut it to make it a cap.  The hassle and diploma are hand cut.

Another graduate’s school colors are red and gray.  I simply copied the same design and changed up the colors.  These card are large – 4 1/4 x 9 – and will easily accommodate a check 🙂
