Love What You Do in Blue

Photos just don’t do this gorgeous paper justice!  It has a beautiful, pearl sheen on the flowers!  I used the Love What You Do set from the May Special to make 2 cards in this style.  The first one has the stamped image sitting behind the paper.

and the second one has the stamped image area over the paper.  Aren’t the pearls wonderful?  Do you have a preference of style?  All the supplies are available now during the Share What You Love special.

Sneak Peek – Serene Garden

This set is called Serene Garden and it will be available starting June 1st.  I love the way this set is drawn!  It also comes with a coordinating die set that not only cuts out the images but has other decorator pieces.  I did this card with Stampin Blends.

The flowers are popped up and then I colored and die cut them again so I could trim out just the bottoms and pop them up. And shimmer pen – always shimmer pen!  Love the look of this one.  Check back on June first for links to this set.  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros May Challenge – No Socks Day

The Paper Pros have a fun May Challenge – No Socks Day!  I decided to use some cute Mo Manning fairies and Karen Burniston’s Twist Panel die for my card.

These cute images are enjoying the sunshine – and no socks 🙂  Colored with Copic markers with shimmer pen on their wings, the little fairies spread across the Twist Panel.  The pretty scalloped circle piece is a retired KB die.

Make sure to check out the other Paper Pros – and their toes 🙂  Hugs, Fran

Kiss the Cook

Riley the Moose is cookin’!  My youngest is a chef and I thought this would be a cute card for her.  The star is Riley the Moose and Karen Burniston’s Square Spinner die.

So you can tell Riley has really been cooking up a storm!  The hamburger and hotdog are punch art and the bottle is from Stampin’ Up’s Bubble Over.  They slide out as the card is opened.

I think she’ll enjoy this!  Hugs, Fran

Love What You Do

This is a card made with the Share What You Love suite which is a special for this month.  The stamp set is called Love What You Do and I stamped the flowers in Calypso Coral and Grapefruit Grove (a new In Color) and matted it on the beautiful, beautiful, beautiful new Share What You Love Specialty paper.  I also added some of the new Artisan pearls.  It’s a lovely suite and you can get it now – to hold you over until the new catalog starts!  Hugs, Fran

Birthday Boy

This card for a birthday boy starts out with the Karen Burniston Fancy Accordion die and the Castle Pop Up die.  For the accordion, I started with Smokey Slate card stock and used embossing paste and the Stampin Up Decorative Mask brick stencil to make the background.

The knight, from the KB Knight and Dragon die, has a silver foil suit of armor and his castle is bright!  The “My Knight” is the Word Set – Royalty and is 3 layers thick so it stands out without flattening when folded.

The dragon is done in green with shimmer pen all over him 🙂

And some white gel pen details.  On the stone wall around the castle, I used the stencil feature right in the Castle Pop Up die.  Hugs, Fran

Hold on to Hope

I needed a masculine card for a friend going through cancer treatment and Hold on to Hope was the perfect stamp set.  I used an embossing pad to emboss the cross into the black card stock.  First I inked it up with Versamark and then I embossed it with gold embossing powder.

I also added some little jewels to the cross and heat embossed the sentiment in gold. Everything is matted on gold foil.

The Designer paper is from the Occasions catalog – Petal Passions.  I love any black and white paper 🙂  I also went over the cross with a shimmer pen for a bit more sparkle.  Hugs, Fran

Happily Ever After

The wedding season is here and I have a pretty card for the newlyweds.  This is a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card made with the Karen Burniston Happily Ever After word die and her Cake trim die.  I used Gold foil paper and the Fabulous Foil Designer Series acetate.

Inside is the KB Cake Pop Up die done in gold.  The sentiment is Stampin Up’s Special Celebrations, heat embossed in gold. The acetate is attached under the trim, cake and sentiment boxes.

The cake uses the Bundle of Joy specialty paper and the beautiful trim is Gold foil using the KB Cake Trim die.  It’s a shiny card!  Hugs, Fran

Sneak Peek – Animal Outings

Stampin Up comes out with a new catalog in June and here is a sneak peek of one of the new stamp sets – Animal Outings.  It has some super cute animals and sentiment to go with them.  And when the catalog goes live, it will have dies to match 🙂  I played around with it and came up with some stacked framed cards.

The giraffe is held in place between the layers of the frame.  The images are colored with Stampin Blends and the sky was done with a sponge dauber.

The kangaroo and koala sit on the outside of the frame.

For the hippo, the sentiment is on a separate piece of paper and mounted on top of the frame.  The triangle background on this one was cut in the opposite direction.  (Would you believe me if I said I meant to do that! – oh well!)

Here’s the inside of all the cards.  This is going to be a fun set!  Come back on June 1 and add it to your new catalog order.  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston May Challenge – Paradise

What do you think of when you think of “paradise”?  For today’s challenge I’m thinking of a vacation on a deserted island and, if it happened to have buried treasury, great!  I started with some digi stamps from The Happy Graphic and colored them with Copic markers.  Using the Karen Burniston Tropical Scenes dies, I made an island for the center mat and used the waves for the background.

The inside features the Karen Burniston Palm Tree Pop Up!  Isn’t it fun?  This top view gives you an idea of how it goes together.  The hammock is hanging from the tree with twine.

I love how this die practically explodes out the center of the card 🙂  Make sure to check out the other designers card (Karen will post on Wednesday.)  Hugs, Fran
