Crazy 4 Challenges Grandparents Day

This weeks challenge with the Crazy 4 Challenges group is to celebrate Grandparents Day tomorrow.  Who knew?  I made a birthday card for my dad using the Karen Burniston Tag Book and Hello Bluebird’s stamp set, Farmyard Little Bits.  I also used the Karen Burniston Outdoor Scenes (trees) and Tropical Scenes (sun) dies.  The sentiment is a retired Stamp Up set.

First you need to know that we have a farm raising Black Angus cattle, so all the little dairy cows have been colored to be black angus!  I’ve attached cows to the main part of the Tag Book die and all along the supports.  There are even a cow and sun attached to the backing.  Happy Grandparents (birthday) Grandfather!  Check out all the designs by the Crazies!  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Design Team September Challenge

This month’s challenge for the Karen Burniston Design Team is Houses.  I started with the new Signs of Santa set from Stampin Up and some of the matching stickers to create on scene on a KB Crosshatch Circle.  He is stamped and colored with Copic markers. The paper used is the coordinating paper for the Signs of Santa – Santa’s Workshop Specialty paper.  (The stripe is flocked!)

This card is 5 x 7.  Not sure if you can tell but Santa is up on an action wobbler.  You gotta dance when reading such a great list!

Inside is the new Karen Burniston House Pivot die!The houses are decorated with some fun paper from the Santa’s Workshop pack and a variety of stamped and colored plus fussy cut from the paper images of Santa’s busy town!  The white snowflakes are the new Stampin Up Blizzard background die layered white on white.

You can see how the pivot houses attach to the top.  Easy to do!!

The little elves go across the bottom and hang from the support of the houses on top.  The rest of the cute sentiment is on the North Pole!  I hope you’ll check out all the other “Houses” this month!  Hugs, Fran

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C450 Techniques

I have been invited by Raquel to Guest Design for Crazy 4 Challenges this month!  The first challenge is to make a card using any technique – old or new.  So I decided on stenciling using embossing paste.  The stencil I used was actually cut using a new Stampin Up background die, Blizzard Thinlits die.  I cut it out of a heavy weight card stock and used Nuvo Glimmer paste in Silver Gem.

The silver embossed sentiment is the coordinating set from Stamp Up – Beautiful Blizzard – and is mounted on silver card stock die cut with the Karen Burniston Crosshatch Circle and surrounded with rhinestones.  (p.s. Silver is hard to photograph!)

Inside I used the new Karen Burniston Explosion die to make this fun design!  I popped up snowflakes and used the silver embossed sentiment from the same set as the front of the card.

I also added a Stampin Up border using Delicate Borders die.  The snowflakes are backed on an acetate circle to give them some added strength.  Check all the Crazies and see what techniques they used for this challenge!  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros August Challenge – Anything Goes!

Anything goes?  OK!  The Paper Pros are playing this month with whatever we want!  I chose the Karen Burniston Katherine Label and Mermaid and Princess dies to create an underwater scene.  I started with a background created with Distress Oxide inks and then stamped the vines from Magical Mermaid along the bottom. I added some color with my Copic markers and the sentiment is on vellum from Magical Mermaids.  The little fish are from the Stampin Up Under the Sea die.  The mermaid tails are from the KB Mermaid and Princess die- colored with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen.

Inside I continued the scene the same way, adding a full mermaid near the sentiment.

Here’s a close up of the sentiment on vellum.  Make sure to check out what the other designers have done this month!  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Design Team August Challenge – Charmed

The Karen Burniston Design challenge this month is Charmed – so I used the Circle Charm die along with the Beach Charms to make my card.  The paper is Tropical Chic and the stamp set is Fabulous Flamingo from Stampin Up.  I used the palm tress on the front.

On the inside I added the flamingo charm.  The colors are Blushing Bride, Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce.

The body of the flamingo is DSP from the Tropical Chic paper.  The wing is the stencil part of the die colored in with a marker.  These charms make it so easy to create a card!  Make sure to check out the other Charmed Designers 🙂  Hugs, Fran

Picture Perfect Birthday

A few days ago I showed a Christmas card that had this wreath shape made with the Gina K wreath builder template.  While I had the template out, I decided to look through my stamps and see what else I could come up with – and I decided on this!  This is a 2 step stamp in the Picture Perfect Birthday set done in the 2 new purples, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape.  (The hearts are Melon Mambo – seriously!)

Christmas Blended Seasons

Not a great picture – sorry – but this is the Christmas holly image from Blended Seasons  I stamped the image, colored it with Stampin Blends and fussy cut it to make a border.  The bells were stamped, colored and cover with vellum so the sentiment would stand out.

For this one I used the bells stamped in a circle to make a square card.  To do this I used the Stamparatus and Gina K’s wreath builder template.  The DSP is Under the Mistletoe – my favorite color for Christmas!  Hugs, Fran

Fall Blended Seasons

This is the autumn/fall image included in the Blended Seasons stamp set.  For this card I stamped the image on Crumb Cake card stock and colored it in with the watercolor pencils.  First I colored them in white, then add the other colors over top.  The background is the Basket Weave embossing folder – such a nice, deep impressions.  I finished it off with some metallic pearls.  Hugs, Fran

Blended Seasons

This is a special set for the month of August – Blended Seasons.  It come with beautiful stamps that cover the entire year!  For this card I embossed the floral image and watercolored it.  The sentiment is from Kindness & Compassion.

This is the same floral image colored with the watercolor pencils that are available as an add on.  The sentiment is the Celebrate You die and the words are from Another Wonderful Year. You can’t see it on this picture (!) but there are score lines next to the image done with the Simply Scored tool.  The Celebrate is covered with Dazzling Diamonds.

This is my case from the flyer – colored with the Stamping Blends.  This sentiment is included in the set.  The set is huge!!

And this is what I did with the left over die cut piece!  I’m not wasting anything!  So that’s what I’ve done with the floral image from the set.  Check back tomorrow to see another image from Blended Seasons.  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston + Darkroom Door Blog Hop

Today is the Karen Burniston Design Hop with Darkroom Door.  I chose the Garden Bird stamp, Artsy Mosaic Collage stamp with the matching stencil.  The background is done over patterned paper (retired SU) with the Artsy Mosaic stamp and stencil.  The bird was stamped twice – once on the paper and again on white – colored with Copic markers and fussy cut.  Then it’s paper pieced over the stamped image.  The sentiment is from the KB Word Set 2 – Birthday die.

Inside I used the Karen Burniston Upsy Daisy die to show off more birds from the Darkroom Door Garden Bird set.  Rainbow order just seemed like a fun idea 🙂

The middle panel hangs from the other panels on some Baker’s Twine.

Both Darkroom Door and Karen Burniston will be giving away a prize packs, with winners randomly chosen from ALL of the blog comments received by Sunday, June 29th, 2018.  Lots of chances to win some goodies, so just leave a comment on this post or any other blog hop post to enter!
