Build a Bouquet Bokeh

Build a Bouquet 02

Happy Valentines Day!  I’ve had this idea in my head for a while but wasn’t even sure it could be done – Bokeh on both sides of one piece of watercolor paper.  The answer – yes it can!  Because the paper gets pretty wet doing this technique, I thought it would create quite a mess on the other side.  But it’s fine!  Just make sure you start with a large enough piece of watercolor paper so the sides can be cut down.  I used Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Rose Red and Wild Wasabi for this card.  After applying the White Craft circles, I sprayed the entire piece with Shimmer Spray!  In real life this is a very sparkly card 🙂   After the paper was ready – and dry – I used Karen Burniston’s Tag Pivot die to create the card.  The sentiment is from Build a Bouquet – it’s one of my favorite sentiments – and is over stamped with Gorgeous Grunge in Pink Pirouette.

The hearts on the front are a retired Stampin Up punch and the inside heart is from Karen Burniston’s Heart Pivot card die.  I added some washi tape, sequins, and a little sliver of gold foil paper – but there is a lot going on in just the paper so I tried to just step away from the embellishments!  Wishing you lots of love today – Hugs, Fran

Balloon Bash 04

Here is my take on one of my favorite cards demonstrated by Carrie Cudney at Stampin Up’s Leadership conference.  It uses Balloon Bash and some of the new (and wonderful) chalkboard paper.  The background is a piece of Back to Black Designer Series paper colored with Blendabilities.  It took me a while to figure out that mine is so much darker than hers because I used Melon Mambo and she must have use Pink Pirouette!  I finished my take on this card with gold twine and sequins – a perfect combo!  Hugs, Fran

Beachy Thoughts Challenge Day 2

Setting Sail 02

Today is the second day of Karen Burniston’s Designer Challenge and I’m showing you my “cute” card – Rocky on the beach!  He’s having a great time while I’m sitting in the snow 🙂  This is a 3 x 6 card using the EDC die Tags and More 3 as the base.  The stamp set is a SU Photopolymer set called Setting’ Sail.

On the inside I added the Pop It Ups mechanism from the Rectangular Pull card so that Rocky pops out into the water when you open it.  The little trees in the background are the Beach Edges dies.  The colors used are Lost Lagoon, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Wild Wasabi, Real Red, Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight.  I hope you are enjoying the teams artsy and cute cards!  Hugs, Fran

World of Dreams Artsy Challenge

World of Dreams 02

The Karen Burniston Designer Challenge this month is to do an “artsy” card and a “cute” card.  This is my artsy card, using World of Dreams stamp set and Typeset Designer Series paper and the Double High technique.  Since this paper is very light (book page) I decided to paint it with acrylic paint to add some heft, and then splattered it with black ink.  I embossed the image on the front with black embossing powder, added some Crumb Cake seam binding, washi tape, some punches from the Bird Builder punch and a button.

On the inside I used a Happy Birthday sticker and the ECD die Berry Branch.  Fun to make – and hard to quit adding things to it!  I hope you’ll check out all the projects on Karen’s Facebook page.  Hugs, Fran

I Think of You

Rectangular Accordion 04

One of the Copic classes I took at Kit and Clowder is a Whimsical Project class.  This is one of the images from TiddlyInks, Fairy Sunny, that we colored.  I put it on a Pop It Ups Rectangular Accordion Album die by Karen Burniston and it fit perfectly!  I love when I can use my practice images!  The card is cut from Soft Sky cardstock and has a Whisper White Katie Label Flourish Edge die from Pop It Ups around it.

On the inside I used a sentiment from the hostess set Bloom with Hope.  It’s my favorite sentiment!  “When my mind wanders, I eventually find it thinking of you.”  So perfect for so many things!

I love that the image fit on this die – and I love being able to use it for something other than my pile collection of practice pieces!  Hugs, Fran

Ooo La La

Eifel Tower 02

Ooo la la!  It’s Karen Burniston’s Pop It Ups Paris Edges on the front of a Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral and Basic Black card!  The girl image is Julie Nutting Doll Stamp 1.  This is a 6 x 6 card and the color combo is one of my favorites.

And of course the inside is the Pop It Ups Eiffel Tower!  Sentiment is Stampin Up’s Fabulous Four – and it’s perfect for this card!

I just love how the card lays flat when it’s opened!  Hugs, Fran

Perfect Peacock

Proud Peacock 01

When I first saw this stamp set – Perfect Peacock – I knew I would have to order it just so I could sit and color!  Very therapeutic 🙂 I colored him up with Copic Markers and used a sentiment from Trust God, punched with the large oval punch, to finish the card.  Of course I added some Dazzling Details to the flowers and rhinestones down the side.  The tiny flag behind the sentiment is from the Banner Framelits – just a little piece of the smallest banner.  Coloring peacocks is actually part of the Animal class at Kit and Clowder (if you want to learn more about coloring!) Copics used – B12, B14, B24, B28, B29, B99, E33, Y15, Y38, YG03 and BG 49.  Hugs, Fran

You Plus Me

You Plus Me 02 front

I cased the little 2 x 2 box in the Occasions Mini – so cute!  I stamped the image in Stazon and added a little heart using the Owl Builder punch.  What would we do without that punch?

Then I punched a little bow with the new Bow Builder punch.  Good idea – easy to copy – fast to make!  Hugs, Fran
