Beautifully Baroque

I case the idea for this from Shelli Gardner (!)  but I changed several things.  I kept the layout and the elements on the card and that’s about it.

Since I don’t have the background stamp she used, I chose Dictionary for my background.  To make the lighter/darker areas on the background stamp, I inked it in Crumb Cake and then took a sponge dauber and added some Early Espresso.  The center piece is the Framelit from Chalk Talk and the stamp set I used is Lacy & Lovely.  I also switched out the sentiment and used Perfect Pairs.  I love the card – and really love how changing just a few things makes it my own (kind of!)

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Beautifully Baroque, Petite Pairs, Lacy & Lovely, Dictionary
cardstock – Crumb Cake, Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer, Vellum Card stock
Ink – Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Etc – Chalk Talk Framelit, Beautiful Butterfly die, Pansy punch, Baroque embossing folder, Vintage clear button, linen thread, Butterfly punch (small), Rhinestone

To make the big flower, I punch 3 or 4 pansy punches, misted them with water and wadded each punch up.  After they dried, I stacked them together and used glue to hold them.  Once it was dry I gathered the petals into the look I wanted and glued it to the card.  (I might need to hand deliver this one!)  Hugs, Fran

Sweet Memories

I needed a sympathy card and had no mojo to start from scratch.  So I took this card, change the colors and sentiment and turned it in to a sympathy card.  Problem solved.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Blessings From Heaven, Lacy & Lovely
card stock – Whisper White, Basic Black, Sycamore Street DSP
Ink – Sahara Sand, Jet Black Stazon
Etc – small butterfly punch, pearls

I need to sort through my cards and put them in categories so I can find what I need when I need it.  (That’s just one of the things I need to do!)  Hugs, Fran

Lacy Hellos

Here’s another card inspired by one I saw in PaperCrafts magazine.  And the angle on this card is kind of weird, isn’t it?  Funny how I didn’t notice it until now.  That teal-ish color is Bermuda Bay – getting ready to make a return to the Stampin Up colors.

Here’s a tip for using White Craft ink on detailed stamps.  I used a sponge dauber and applied the White ink directly to the stamp.  Worked like a charm.

We are some wicked storms here this morning.  Our electricity was out for 6 hours last night and at the exact minute I got the downstairs clocks reset – it went out again!  I mean at the exact minute I set the last clock.  I thought I’d done it!  Stormy morning – Hugs, Fran
