Happy Valentines Day

These cute boxes will go to my kiddos today.  There is some candy tucked inside – with lots of shred underneath because we really don’t need more candy around here!  These boxes are a very simple version of the ones I did at Halloween.  The paper is from Flowers For You and the chipboard hearts were sponged with Rose Red Craft Ink.  These are perfect for a last minute gift.  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Covered Lollipops

I got to spend a little bit of time this weekend working on some treats for my youngest to take to school and give to her friends for Valentines Day.  These are the Tootsie Roll Lollipops in the Valentine wrappers – cherry flavored – and the color matches the Regal Rose card stock.  I made them in Regal Rose and Rose Red using the Sweet Celebrations stamp set.

Cut your card stock 2 x 6 and score at 1/2″, 2 1/2″. 3 1/2″ and 5 1/2.”  Use the smaller hole punch in your crop o dile to punch the holes in each end of the card stock (the middle of the 1/2″ ends)  Insert the stick through one hole and gently push the stick through the second hole – it’s a bit like getting a ship in a bottle, but once you do one you’ll understand what I mean!  You really don’t need adhesive but I did put some on one of the flaps before I pushed the stick through.  Punch a scallop and layer the layers onto it and adhere to the front.  You could really dress these up if you want – if you’re not handing them out to kids!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Pretty Milk Cartons

The tutorial this week on Splitcoast is a milk carton!  It was so fun to make – and I’m excited to use my new Berry Bliss Designer Series Paper!

I used the Whimsy jumbo wheel and rolled the Purely Pomegranate card stock in Purely Pomegranate ink (that’s a mouth full!)  You can make ink cartridges for any of your colors by using an empty cartridge and an ink refill.  Then I wrapped the carton with a 1 1/2″ strip of the Berry Bliss (love it!) DSP and tied some of the Chocolate Chip satin ribbon from the Theater Original ribbon around the top.  The stamp is from Sweet Celebrations, stamped in Purely Pomegranate and punched out with the 1 1/4″ circle punch – layered on a Chocolate Chip 1 3/8″ circle.  The little flower was punched with the new Boho Flower punch from Pretty in Pink card stock with a half pearl from the Pretties kit attached with a mini glue dot!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Etched plate

While I was at Leadership I met Corinna who gave me this beautiful plate that she made!  Really, she just gave it to me!  Isn’t it gorgeous?!  Let’s hope she decides to write a tutorial on how she did it!

And here’s a cute little Valentine that I did using the Voila set.  The shirt on the chef is made by stamping him on Very Vanilla and then again on the Cerise DSP and paper piecing the shirt over the stamped image.  (Did that make sense?)  He’s ready to serve up a plate full of love for Valentine Day!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Package Tie On

I made some little package tie ons to take to Leadership today!  (Hooray!!!)  I used the new set Pun Fun and stamped the little skunk in Basic Black and colored him in with watercolor pencils and gamasol.  Cut the skunk out and put him on 2 dimensionals so he really pops out.  The DSP is Soft Sky – a 2″ circle inside the tin and a strip around the outside.  The inside is filled with flowers punched from the Three For You Punch.  I attached two flowers (front and back) over the stamped flower and adhered a little cell phone gem to the center. Then I added the Soft Sky Double Stitched ribbon and the sentiment punched out with the Word Window punch.  The flower is from the Three For You punch.  You can see how I made a slit to attach the strip.  This was done because I forgot to punch a hole and attach it to the silver cord first! Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Frustrating!

After spending about 4 hours yesterday updating my contacts and syncing one program to another – I awoke to no computer at all!  The screen wouldn’t come up – nothing, nada, caput.  Sigh…..Keep in mind that this is the computer that was sent away for 5 weeks just one month ago!  So that’s that.  I’ll send it back again – but in the meantime, a different store is copying my data onto a new computer.  Is technology a curse or a blessing?

So I’m looking back in my files for something to share with you – this is a project I sent in to SU when I applied to be a display stamper.

It’s a little box that holds 3 x 3 cards.  (The tutorial for the box is on my website under the tutorial button/love note box)  I added a rounded top that slips under the front piece.  The “lid” was run through the crimper to give it some texture.  The stamp set in the Defining Alphabet and the Rough Edges alphabet (for the little words)  The edge us done with the spiral punch. The pencil is made from a Word Window punch.

First I punched it in Kraft and cut a point at one end.  Then I punched it in Pretty in Pink for the eraser.  The body is punched in Summer Sun and has the ends trimmed off.  The metal around the eraser is Brushed Silver, run through the crimper and trimmed.

Here’s what the set looked like!  Fun to drop in a child’s lunch box!  Enjoy! Hugs, Fran

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!  I hope this year is all and more that you dream it can be!  I made this card last night while waiting for the “ball to drop” (and kids to get home safely) with the now retired level 1 hostess set Eventful.  I have a friend going through chemo and hope this will bring her a smile.  The card base is Regal Rose and then a 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 layer of Bashful Blue.  The background paper is the now retired Petals – which made it so easy to create a background, since it’s already done for you!  To get the word window punch in the bottom, I punched adhered the background paper to the Bashful Blue and punched through those layers and then adhered it to the card and punched again.  (The punches will not – and should not –  go through 3 layers of paper) Then I traced the outline onto the Whisper White sheet inside the card and used my Stamp a ma jig to place the words right where I wanted them.  The little hanger was stamped onto Whisper White and then I scored around it to give it an embossed look.  Adhered it to a piece of Regal Rose and popped it up on Dimensionals.

As an extra treat I wrapped a Cadbury chocolate bar with some Pretty in Pink from some long ago retired paper.  This cute saying is from Time Well Spent – a new level 3 hostess set from the Spring/Summer catalog.  I colored the flowers with a Pretty in Pink Stampin’ Write marker and layered it on Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip card stock. Tied some of the yummy Chocolate Chip satin ribbon from the Theater Ribbon Originals around the chocolate bar – punched a hole in the sentiment tag and tied it on with Pink Gingham ribbon.  Then I adhered the entire thing to chocolate bar so it won’t move around!  This little cutie only takes a few minutes to make and now I have something cute to give her when I see here this week!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Teacher Gifts

These are the ribbon key chains that we gave to my youngest’s teachers this year for Christmas.  They’re fashioned after the very popular ones that demonstrators were able to buy at convention this summer.  One of my good friends brought me one – thanks Jill – and I this is my “knock off” on it.  The ones for the teachers had their initial hanging from the bottom.  The ribbon on these is really just a little bit of this and that!  The tag was made with Punch Pals – the school mascot is a penguin!

This is the one I did for the girls attending my Team Christmas get together.  It’s made with the Sherbert Ribbon Originals and other Stampin’ UP! ribbon.  The tag uses the now retired Season Of Joy.  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran
