Quick and Easy Bookmark

Do you need a quick gift for a teacher, student, book club member – or you?  Here’s something you can make in just a few minutes!  Cut a piece of Perfect Plum card stock 8 1/2 x 2 1/2 and a piece of Whisper White 8 1/4 x 2 1/2.

Stamp the Whisper White strip in Pale Plum using any small image.  I used the butterfly from the upcoming Dreams Du Jour.  Stamp any of the definitions from Define Your Life about a third of the way down from the top in Perfect Plum.

Use your Cropadile or hole punch to punch a hole in the top and thread 12 inches of Perfect Plum grosgrain through the hole and tie it about 1 1/2″ above the hole.

Stamp the corresponding letter from Defining Alphabet using Perfect Plum ink onto a scrap of Whisper White and punch out with the 1 3/8″ Circle punch.  Layer this onto a Scallop Punched piece of Pale Plum.  Use 2 Dimensionals to the right and left side on the scallop and adhere to the top of the bookmark, covering the hole.

Enjoy! Hugs, Fran

First and Foremost

I have a beautiful card to share with you that my friend Nina made!  Isn’t it lovely?

The colors are so soft and pretty!

Next is a mirror/note board I made for my daughter’s locker at school.  I used a large book board chipboard piece and the outline piece of a flower from the chipboard set.  This is cover in fine Cosmo glitter using the 2 way Glue Pen.  The DSP is from the soon to be retired Cutie pie – so easy because it comes just like this!  I tied a 5/8 Certainly Celery ribbon around it, added some cell phone gems on the bottom and “voilĂ !”  I’m finished!  Then I rolled an extra piece of DSP (1 1/4″ x 3″) into a RSVP pen – put a small piece of velcro on it and the other side onto the board, added some magnets to the back and it’s ready to hang.  Does she love it?

Ummmmm, well not exactly!  It’s too “girly” looking!  Sheesh!  I’m giving it to my niece!  She’ll love it – and if she doesn’t – well, she won’t say so!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Fun Folding

I had fun this weekend following along with some great patterns to make some wonderful gift bags and boxes.  I’m going to try to connect you to the tutorials and patterns that I used.

All of these items use the Summer Picnic DSP!  (Aren’t they cute together?)

First is the bag which I found on Nancy’s blog.  Then I had to try it in acetate –

Next is the cute little shoe.  You can find the pattern it here.

And last, but not least, the cute little petal box. Pattern here.

There now, that ought to keep you busy!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Great Grad gift card holder

Thank you for your patience and concern while I worked through a few things around here.  Your cards and emails have really lifted my spirits and I hope we are all back on the straight and narrow!

Here’s a gift card holder that was one of the many I made over the past month.  (Yes, it’s still black and red!)  The set is Great Grad – ink with the Stampin’ Write markers.  I went over the little hat with the Versamarker and embossed it to make it “pop” a bit more.  You can find the tutorial for the holder here.

Thanks again for your patience!  ENjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Coaster Album

Things are nuts around here – but I do have some projects to share with you!  Here’s a coaster album that I made for Samantha as a keepsake for her last show.  The pictures are mostly candids of her friends backstage and by printing them out as 4 x 6’s I was able to cut them out with the Coluzzle and mount them on circles of card stock.  The little journaling circle is from Enjoy Every Moment.  The DSP is Cutie Pie.  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Gift Tag

I found a mug at Starbucks that is perfect for Samantha’s French teacher for the end of the school year!  It says “Good Morning” in lots of different languages – and is in Old Olive, Really Rust and Chocolate Chip!  (Okay – I usually don’t do things this far in advance, but I just couldn’t pass this up!)  I made a tag for it using the SOON TO BE OVER Merci set.

The Old Olive base is 3 1/2  x 6 1/2 folded in half, 3 1/4 x 3 Chocolate Chip layer and a 2 3/4 x 3 piece of watercolor paper.  I watercolored using my aquapainter in Really Rust, Old Olive and Bashful Blue – and highlighted with my Really Rust, Old Olive and Bordering Blue Stampin Write Markers.  The “Merci” is punched out with the small oval punch and adhered inside the oval frame.  Then I stamped the butterfly on Vellum card stock, bent the wings with my bone folder and adhered just the center to the butterfly.

Now – can someone tell me how to write “Thanks for being my teacher” in French?  (I’d sure hate to get THAT wrong!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Keychains

There was a demo challenge a few days ago to make these cute little key chains that hold post it notes. (first shown by Angie Juda)  My measurements are just slightly different – I’m guessing it’s because of the post it notes I bought from Staples.  All they had were in the smaller sizes were very bright colors so that’s where the colors came from!

The Pink Passion card stock was cut the width of the note pad (2″) by 3 1/8″ and scored at 1 1/5 and again at 1 5/8.  I did stamp the Pink Passion with a little flower from Simply Said in Versamark – but you sure can’t see it on this picture!  Then I divided the pad in half and inserted it into the holder.  The Cropadile makes punching through the notepad a breeze!  I punched a scallop in YoYo Yellow and a 1 3/8 circle in Green Galore and adhered them with sticky strip to the front.  The S is from Lovely Letters stamped in Pink Passion and punched with the 1 1/4 circle punch.  Again, I used sticky strip – thinking if it’s a key chain dangle it will get a lot of punishment!  To put the stripes on the white grosgrain, I used my Stampin’ Write Markers and drew them on.  (I did both sides)  These might make cute teacher gifts for the end of the year.  I’m sure you can come up with fancier designs for them!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran
