Chipboard Friends

I’m doing a “clean out” of some boxes in my closet – and look what I found!  A chipboard album that appears to have come from a dollar store (who knows when?)  I thought I would dress it up –

I used some Retired Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and lots of retired ribbon (clean out – remember?) and had fun decorating it!  The butterflies are punched with the butterfly punch (2 pieces) and have a layer of cardboard between them to give them more strength.

The antennae and pearl centers are from the retired pretties kit.

The flower is the scalloped punch, punched 6 times with a rhinestone brad in the center – which doesn’t show!  The stem is the 2-Step Bird Punch and is glued with Crystal Effects directly to the book.

All the edges were inked in Rich Razzleberry.  Now to see what else I can find in these boxes!  Enjoy your weekend!  Hugs, Fran

Prom Mini Album

Last weekend was prom for my youngest.  I thought it would be fun to make a mini album of photos for her to have as a keepsake.  Using Kim Assaly’s album design I made one for my daughter, my mother, her date’s mother and the photographer!  I used the Presto Designer Series Paper which has a nice, very heavy weight and makes an elegant album.  (Though it doesn’t photograph well at all.) This is the front of the album.

Some notes – I used Basic Black textured card stock for the Big Shot Scallop Circle #2 die (the largest circle), the band and the scallop edge.  The circle for the photo was cut with my circle scissors at just under 3 inches. I actually use Crystal Effects to glue the bow (White satin ribbon) to the band. (Didn’t want it coming off – ever!)  I used a Trinkets crown on this one and keys on the others.  The band in the floral Presto pattern and the album is the script – wish you could see it!

This is the inside of the album for my mom.  (Mom and I jumped in during the photo session and snagged a few pics with my girl!)

What you can’t see – I added a piece of Presto paper to the inside top flap to cover the Basic Black scallop edge.  The center photo is matted with the Big Shot Scallop Square. These made great gifts – and a great keepsake for Samantha. Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Sneak Peek and a Winner

Daylight Savings Time always throws me and I got up late this morning.  I’m usually a very early riser but time changes do me in.  So even though I feel like I’m scrambling this morning, I’ve got a sneak peek to show you! In the upcoming Summer Mini there will be a beautiful stamp set called Strength & Hope.  $2 from each set sold will go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  It’s a wonderful stamp set benefitting a great cause.  We used it yesterday at my team meeting and this is one of the cards we made.

This is a 3 x 6 card (6x 6 scored in half.)  Though you can’t tell from the picture, the butterfly is inked in Soft Suede and then the stamp was coated with Champagne Mist shimmer ink before stamping.  It has a beautiful shine to it.  The card is “spritz” with a Soft Suede marker and then sprayed with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.

Stamp Set – Strength & Hope
card stock – Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede, Whisper White
Ink – Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede
Stampin’ Write Marker – Soft Suede
Ect – Vanilla Smooch Spritz, Spritzer tool, Tasteful Trim die, Curly Label punch, 1 1/4 circle punch, 1/8 White ribbon, pearls, sponge, Champagne Mist shimmer ink

On to the fun!  I used the random number generator to pick the blog candy winner and it is number 19 – Jennifer!

Love the card, wishing for Spring to hurry up and get here. Thanks for a chance to win a wonderful stamp set.

Jennifer – send me your address so I can get this stamp set in the mail to you! Thanks to everyone for playing – and my spring cleaning is on going so we will do this again soon.  I’ve uncovered lots of goodies to give away!

Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Scrapbooking

I love to scrap – do you?  I actually started as a SU demo back when they had Stampin’ Memories (remember that?)  So I really enjoy taking time to work on my scrapbooks.  This layout is the start of a book for my youngest from her performance in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat last year.

The background is textured Soft Suede wheeled with the Scatter Sunshine wheel.  The flowers are cut with the Flower Folds die and the centers use Circle Circus.  These were some of my favorite pictures of her – but my dear friend is the photographer and I have lots more to scrap!  It makes me so happy to have such a wonderful friend!

Supplies
Stamp sets – Circle Circus, Scatter Sunshine wheel
cardstock Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Tangerine Tango, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla
Ink – Soft Suede
Ect – Flower Folds Die, 1 3/8 circle punch, 1/2″ circle punch

You still have time to get in on the blog candy!  Let a comment on this post and I’ll select a random winner on Sunday.

Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Sneek Peek Boo

Sneek Peek from the Holiday Mini!  The Big Shot Candy Wrapper die is going to be so much fun!  Say after me “Pull, push, twist, smoosh.”  That’s how the ends are done.  Here’s one in a Halloween design using the Halloween rub ons and new Halloween DSP from the Mini.

Same thing using Perfect Punches and Jolly Holiday DSP –

And for some more Halloween fun – here’s a layout using the Halloween rub ons from the Mini –

And for the gals who came to this month’s Scrapbooking 101 – yes, this is the same layout done for Halloween   Hugs, Fran

On Board Heart

I think I’ve found the best value in the Occasions Mini!  The On Board Books (page 34) are only $4.95 and look what you can do with only one book!  First off I made 2 brag books – 4 pages each.

Both of these use the  Welcome Neighbor paper pad in the Sale a bration catalog.  I used some Jumbo Brads in the “Friends” book and ribbon to hold it together.  The chain will not fit through the brads (ask me how I know!)

Then I used one of the left over frames to make a scrapbook page.

(My kids making fun of a Jonas Brothers picture!)  And last, but not least, I used the rest of the frames and the backing piece to making a Valentine 3-D wall hanging.

I glued the pieces together and painted them with acrylic paint.  Then I covered the edges with the Sending Love DSP and covered the top with Dazzling Diamonds.  All of these projects from one On Board Book!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Cleaning Up Around Here

I want to show you what I did with one of the convention make and takes.  I scrapbook in 12 x 12 – and while I could have taken this 8 x 8 page and put it on a 12 x 12 page – I put it on a piece of chip board to make a display instead of a page.  I rounded the corners with my corner rounder and added a piece of Rich Razzleberry polka dot ribbon and a piece of Crushed Curry card stock and put it on a easel for display.

In other stampin news – this weekend I held my Stamp Out Breast Cancer stamp camp (say that three times fast!) and while we were stamping cards, Samantha and her friends came down and wanted to stamp too.  But not cards (boring!) – they wanted to create something by themselves.  So I set them to work in my office with the All in the Family stamp set, some coasters and a few alphabets.  It was “Harry Potter” madness!

So today I get to clean up and put away!  Fortunately, the “coaster girls” did clean the stamps and return them to the correct boxes.  But between the stamp camp and the girls – I have a lot to put away!  Good fun!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

July Scrap Club

This was our Scrap Club layout for July featuring the Big Shot Fancy Folds die – and my niece!

I haven’t done the journaling yet, but it will go on the sky in the bottom left photo.  The background paper was made using the Kindness wheel in Chocolate Chip ink (on Kraft card stock) and a whit gel pen.  She’s just so cute on that hay bale!  I won’t be blogging again until Tuesday – from SLC!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Doodle Scrappin’

Happy May – it’s National Scrapbooking Month!  There is a great promotion going this month to help celebrate! Check it out here!

I thought I’d kick off the celebration by sharing the layout that my Scrap Clubs did last week.  I used Doodle This – one of my favorite sets for scrappin’!

This page also uses the Lovely Lilac Designer Prints paper, Pink Passion, Pumpkin Pie, Yo Yo Yellow and Basic Black card stock and LOTS of glitter!  A note about using glitter on your scrapbook pages – do not use original photos when you use glitter.  While glitter is acid free – it might scratch your photos when it is in your page protectors and/or photo albums.

This pages are of Samantha and her friend getting ready to go to an 80’s party!  How sad that I was pulling things out of my closet for them to wear!  But the “Big Hair” was so much fun!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran
