Valentine Gift Card Holders

Valentine’s Day is almost here and I have a gift card holder to share with you.  (Because what says “I love you” more than a Venti White Mocha?)  This starts with a 4 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of Real Red scored at 4 1/2, 5 1/2 and 6 1/2.  Put some strong adhesive right on the inside of the score lines and die cut, punch or simply cut the top of the sealed area.  This makes a space for your gift card.  Decorate the inside and out of your holder and wrap with a belly band.

My belly band is 1″ wide and is decorated with Sending Love Designer Series paper.  The heart is punched from Red Glimmer paper and the Love is die cut from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.

I made some 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 envelopes using the envelope punch board to hold these and they fit perfectly!  Hugs, Fran

Butterfly Birthday

Here we go with a trio of cards simply creaTed because I cut way too many butterflies.  I watercolored a piece of watercolor paper with Peekaboo Peach, Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette and then die cut some butterflies using the Butterfly Thinlits.  With the leftover piece I used the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches to punch the rest.  This gave me a lot of butterflies!

Using Gorgeous Grunge and Suite Sentiments, I created 3 background pieces and placed all the butterflies around the sentiment.

That’s a little strip of Glimmer paper down the left side – hard to see in the photograph!  So now there are 3 cards – similar but different.  Hugs, Fran

Doing a Double Take

This set is called Double Take and it has large letters!  It’s a two step set that makes a bold impact.  I paired it with the Urban Underground Specialty paper to make this masculine card.  I tucked some black twine behind the words and added some sequins and washi tape – and that’s about it!  Hugs, Fran

Chicken Love

I needed a funny Valentine for someone special so I decided to use the crazy chicken in Hey Chick (Salebration) to peek out and send my love.  (You can click on the picture to make it larger ) This is a 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 card with the “love” part done as a shaker.  I arranged the letters with a heart from Sweet & Sassy framelits and cut them out of Real Red.  The chicken is stamped on the backing of the shaker and a few hearts are attached to the top of the transparency.  The letters are filled with sequins.  Then I used the left over letters to make this card –

The DSP on both cards is Sending Love from the Occasions Mini.  Hugs, Fran

Beautiful Stenciled You

I’ve been cleaning my stamp supplies and came across this stencil that I think was a freebie in a magazine.  I sponged it with Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango and Tempting Turquoise.  Then I stamped the girl over the stenciled paper in Versafine and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  To make the girl stand out a bit I painted over her with Clear Wink of Stella.

The hint of sparkle gives her just enough …..something…..to stand out.  Sparkle? I used my Signo gel pen to add some accents around her.  I am hooked on this color combo for the moment!  Hugs, Fran

Back to the Beach

It’s a redo (with maybe another one coming soon!) of this card.  So in case you can’t tell, it’s meant to have the feel of a postcard.  I drew the box around the stamped images and used an old postage punch to make the stamp.  The sentiment was done with a rotary stamp and the images are colored with Copic markers.  This time I only put Crystal Effects on the beach ball and the sunglasses. So maybe next I’ll combine the redo of this card with the die cut on the old card and see where that takes me!  Hugs, Fran

Butterfly Wishes

This idea uses the Flower Shop stamp set. First I stamped the Melon Mambo card base with one of the flower stamps.  Then stamp the flowers, used an aqua painter to create a pool of color, and then stamped over the images with the stamp.  The background is Shimmery White (which does fine with water) and the punch is the Elegant Butterfly.  Then I sprayed the entire card with some home made shimmer spray.  I suggest spraying the stamped part and then putting the card together!   Hugs, Fran

Let’s Go to the Beach!

It’s dark and dreary here so a sunny card makes my heart happy!  This is Day at the Beach colored with Copic markers and masked all over the place!  I used post it notes to mask off each piece and then colored away – eventually covering most of the images with Crystal Effects.  The die is Sunshine Sayings.  I’ll be adding to the card in the future!  Hugs, Fran

Valentine Treat Boxes

These little treat boxes hold Tootsie Roll Lollipops and are super quick and easy to make.  They really are wraps for the candy.

To make the wrappers cut a piece of Real Red to 2 1/4 x 7 1/2.  Score the 7 1/2 side at 2 1/2, 4 and 6 1/2.  Attach a 2 x 2 1/4 piece of the Sending Love DSP to the end of the Real Red paper and adhere the flap end over to close the wrapper.  Use a hole punch to add a hold for the sucker and then add a 2 x 3/4 stamped piece (or you could use more patterned paper) to the flap.  Insert you sucker and tie the top with a Real Red Sending Love ribbon bow.  Add a heart from the Love Notes Framelit die and embellish with a rhinestone.  I added a bit of glue under the rhinestone just to make sure it stays put.  Hugs, Fran
