Halloween Bags

I made these for my stamp club members using the instructions found on the Stampin Up blog.  You start with the Mini Muslin Bags (page 36 Holiday Mini – 132180) and My Digital Studio.  I used the Halloween Bash download – recolored it as shown and then mirrored the image.  All of this is done in MDS.  Then I printed it on a sheet of Avery Iron On Transfer paper and followed the directions on the package to apply them.  So easy – and very, very fun to do!  There are so many cute ideas out there for the Holidays that it’s hard to keep up!  Make sure to share if you try this one – Hugs, Fran

Owl Brooms

Owls on broomsticks – oh so cute!  I made these for my daughter’s sorority sisters using a retire stamp Warmest of Wishes.  You could use any stamp – or punch art – to make up these cute lollipop brooms for Halloween.  (Punch art would be so cute if you are just making a few!)

Of course, I punched three blank owl shapes to give my owl a little more “umph” and to help steady the lollipop (Tootsie Roll pops)  FYI – I got 16 lollipops in a bag.  There are many many many examples of these brooms on Pinterest  – so here’s how I ended up making mine.

Use a coffee filter and fold it in half (I found brown filters at my grocery store)

Fold it in half again –

and once more.  You will have 8 layers of filter.

Use your papersnips to make a fringe.

Open it up to the first half fold and make a tiny, tiny snip at the center. (Really tiny!)  When you open it up, you can poke your lollipop stick through the hole and tie it with Baker’s Twine.  I colored the sticks with a brown Sharpie before I placed it in the filter.  Glue the owl onto the front – using it to help balance your treat.

And last, but least – have you heard about this upcoming special?  Wow!!  Hugs, Fran

Halloween Bash

Boo!  Halloween is coming!  These coffins are boxes from Digital Delights decorated with some retired DSP.  I used Halloween Bash from the Holiday mini catalog to add the Beware.  If you still have the retired bat punch, it fits perfectly on this label.

Since I need quite a few of these, I am using up old every piece of Halloween DSP I can find.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Halloween Bash
Card stock – Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie
Ink – Jet Black Stazon, White Craft
Etc – retired bat punch, Coffin from Digital Delights

It was parents weekend this past weekend for my youngest.  We had a good time at some scheduled events and just visiting (and shopping!)  Hugs, Fran

Halloween Potions

Some containers for all your spooky potions!  These are SVG files from SVGCuts.com.  I used Witches’ Brew DSP to make them and some silver foil add accents.

The tall one has a Halloween Bash tag to let the recipient know to be ware!  (This coordinates with the Label Framelits)

The short jar is decorated with a label that comes with the file.  I added lots of rhinestones and a vintage button.

Supplies
Stamps – Halloween Bash
Card stock – Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Witches’ Brew DSP
Ink – White Craft, Basic Black
Etc – Label Framelits, SVG file, Rhinestones, Vintage button, ribbon

There is now not one scrap of Basic Black cardstock in my craft room   Thank goodness I have an order coming today!  Hugs, Fran

Halloween Muslin Bags

Spooky, spooky!  These little treat bags are made from the Mini Muslin bags in the Holiday Mini (132180)  I used the Banner Simply Created Kit (132699) dotted stencil, Classic ink and a sponge dauber to make the polka dots.

On this one I applied a very retired rub on – and that worked great!  Fun way to use up some these left over pieces

For this one I used the retired bat punch and punched it out 8 times.  I glued a tiny piece of ribbon between the pieces so it can hand from the tie.

The bag on the left uses Basic Black and Tangerine Tango.  For the one on the right I switched to Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black.  Here’s a hint for working with the stencils – spray the backs with spray adhesive.  Then I store them on window sheets.  This really helps keep them down while working.  I have tried spritzers, daubers and sponges to apply the color – and my preference is daubers.

Can you tell I’m cleaning out my craft room?  We’re having a stamping garage sale September 13 and 14 and I’m trying to clear things out – and find myself ending up creating with the stuff I’m uncovering!!  Hugs, Fran

Bewitched Pop N Cuts

I need a card to go with my Halloween suite of projects – don’t you agree?  I had to use my exclusive SU Pop N Cuts base and Dress Form insert because it’s my favorite!  I love the closure on the base – and I love how it shows just a peek of the paper inside.  This paper from Witches’ Brew is the easiest paper in the world to create a card.  I didn’t have to do a thing!  The design on the paper made a perfect base for what I had in mind.

I just punched out this “warning” and adhered it to the funny witches’ menu style paper, added a strip of Pumpkin Pie card stock and that was that.

So here she is – making potions!  She has her spell book, hat, candle, wand, broom and cauldron.  She is ready to cast some spells!

I added googlie eyes across the top the card.  There are weird little dots on the paper – I just filled them with eyes.  I also added some glitter stars so she’d have a bit more sparkle.  One of the papers in Witches’ Brew looks like book paper so it made a perfect spell book.  The witches hat has an Orange Stampin Glitter band.

To make her dress, I cut off the top of a Dress Form Framelit with the Full Heart punch and added the ears from the Owl Builder to the shoulders.  Then I covered the entire piece with Two Way glue and Black Stampin Glitter.  I had one star left so I adorned her top with that. Her necklace is pearls colored with a Sharpie Marker.  For the skirt, I traced the skirt and made it longer then free-hand cut the edge.  The cauldron is a 1 1/2″ circle punch cut straight across the top.  The feet on the cauldron are another Dress Form Framelit bottom – just snipped to fit behind the cauldron.

Then I embossed across the top using the Delicate Design embossing folder.  I covered it with Dazzling Details.  The foam in the cauldron is vellum card stock brayered in Pear Pizazz and accented with pearls and more Dazzling Details.

Supplies
Card Stock – Witches’ Brew DSP, Basic Black, Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Vellum card stock, Pumpkin Pie
Ink – White Craft, Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry
Etc – SU exclusive Pop N Cuts base die and Dress Form insert and Framelit, 1 3/4″ Circle punch, pearls, linen thread, googlie eyes, Dazzling Details, Orange and Black Stampin Glitter, Full Heart punch

I love creating things for Halloween because there are no rules and I love my Pop N Cuts die   Hugs, Fran

A Little More Halloween

My Halloween collection needed a few things to make it completely stylish – so I added a shoe and cauldron to go with the witches’ hat centerpiece.  These are cut files from SVGcuts (Party on Elm Street and Love Always.)  The shoe was in a collection of wedding themes – but hey!

The bow on the shoe is the new Gift Bow die in the Holiday Mini – and the center is from Toil and Trouble stamped in White Craft ink.  I punched it out in a circle and used my Simply Scored to make score lines on the sides so that it not only fit but had a area for glue.  The bow is Washi tape folded back on itself so that it is double sided (and not sticky.)  This is a very stylish witch!

Stamp Set – Toil and Trouble
Card stock – Tangerine Tango, Basic Black, Sycamore Street (retired)
Ink – White Craft
Etc – Gift bow die, 1 1/4″ circle punch, Simply Scored, Dazzling Details, SVGcut files, Witches’ Brew Washi tape

Halloween Centerpiece UStamp with Dawn and Friends

The newest edition of UStamp with Dawn and Friends is Heating up the Holidays.  This is one of my projects – a witches’ hat centerpiece.  There is still time to join the fun.  Just go here and join   Wouldn’t this be fun as the centerpiece for a Halloween party?

Here’s the hat in all black – very scary!

Can you tell what’s in the center of the rosettes?  All the instructions are here – join us for the holidays!  Hugs, Fran

Haunted Halloween

It’s August 1 and I’m messing around with Halloween projects   This is a SVG cutting file (SVGcuts.com – Maple Manor) that makes a 3-D house – decorated for Halloween.  I cut this with my Sizzix Eclips.  The paper is from the Holiday Mini and is called Witches’ Brew.  The stamp on the front dorr is Toil & Trouble and the little banner on the porch is from Halloween Bash.  I also added a picket fence with a very old Sizzix die. The bats flying over the house are the retired bat punch.

This shows it with the lights off and the house lit.  Spooky!  There are 3 tea lights inside.

And I thought I’d throw this picture in so you can get an idea of how large this house really is!  It took 14 sheets of 12 x 12 Basic Black and 5 sheets of Witches’ Brew DSP to put together.   Now – back to summer!  Hugs, Fran
