Chipboard Friends

I’m doing a “clean out” of some boxes in my closet – and look what I found!  A chipboard album that appears to have come from a dollar store (who knows when?)  I thought I would dress it up –

I used some Retired Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and lots of retired ribbon (clean out – remember?) and had fun decorating it!  The butterflies are punched with the butterfly punch (2 pieces) and have a layer of cardboard between them to give them more strength.

The antennae and pearl centers are from the retired pretties kit.

The flower is the scalloped punch, punched 6 times with a rhinestone brad in the center – which doesn’t show!  The stem is the 2-Step Bird Punch and is glued with Crystal Effects directly to the book.

All the edges were inked in Rich Razzleberry.  Now to see what else I can find in these boxes!  Enjoy your weekend!  Hugs, Fran

Chipboard Tags

What do you do with all the “extra” pieces in the On Board Chipboard packages?  I started putting together some tags to have one hand for gifts.  I used two tags from the On Board Essentials pack and some left over letters from the now retired Simon Lower, scraps of DSP and little bit of ink –

This one uses the wonderful paper from the Sweet Pea DSP in the Occasions Mini along with some Rose Red stitched grosgrain ribbon.

This one uses Pink Flamingo DSP and the On Your Birthday stamp set.  The flower is from the Pretties kits and is inked in Cameo Coral with a red corduroy button in the center.

I like to use the Tombow Multi purpose glue (the one with the green lid) to adhere DSP to chipboard.  I spread it on the chipboard, place the chipboard on the paper and smooth it out with my bone folder.  Then I use my hobby blade (and mat!) to trim the excess paper.  You can ink the edges, sand them, or just leave them be.  On the 4U tag I inked and on the 14 tag I sanded.

I did these to use up the retired chipboard – but you can cut chipboard with your Big Shot and spell anything you want!  There are so many cute ideas using “chat talk” – I’ll just have to get my kids to make me a list!  They’d die if I made one saying “lol!”  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

On Board Heart

I think I’ve found the best value in the Occasions Mini!  The On Board Books (page 34) are only $4.95 and look what you can do with only one book!  First off I made 2 brag books – 4 pages each.

Both of these use the  Welcome Neighbor paper pad in the Sale a bration catalog.  I used some Jumbo Brads in the “Friends” book and ribbon to hold it together.  The chain will not fit through the brads (ask me how I know!)

Then I used one of the left over frames to make a scrapbook page.

(My kids making fun of a Jonas Brothers picture!)  And last, but not least, I used the rest of the frames and the backing piece to making a Valentine 3-D wall hanging.

I glued the pieces together and painted them with acrylic paint.  Then I covered the edges with the Sending Love DSP and covered the top with Dazzling Diamonds.  All of these projects from one On Board Book!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran
