The Karen Burniston Design Team Challenge this month is Flowers!
I started with the Hello die (Gold foil card stock) and background (in vellum) and PinkFresh Studio Daisy Wreath hot foil plate and stencils. The little sentiment is a sentiment strip from Simon Says Stamp.
The gold Hello is so pretty with the hot foil!
Inside I used the Hearts Collage and added flowers from the Flowers and Bee dies. I also used the Rectangle Crosshatch die and the Border Blends – Trims.
I turned the bees into dragonflies. :).
Make sure to check out the other designer’s creations! Karen’s post will be on Wednesday. Hugs, Fran
What’s more fun than a barrel of monkeys? Monkeys in love! To make this card, I started with the new Karen Burniston Monkey and Lion die set. The base is the Long Rectangle – Crosshatch die.
The barrel was made with the post from the new Mailbox die. I stacked them together and die cut that using the Crosshatch Oval die.
Inside I used the Katherine Label die to hang a monkey from a heart. The stamped heart and sentiments are from Simon Says Stamp’s Love Greetings Mix. Hugs, Fran
Our Karen Burniston Design Team Challenge this month is to make a Valentines or Love-themed card WITHOUT using red or pink as the primary colors.
I chose blue and gold. The front of this card was inspire by Yana Smakula. I used the moon from the Simon Says Stamp’s Sun and Moon Mandala, gold heat embossed onto a Crosshatch Circle. The stars were done in gold embossing paste. This card is a 5 x 7. “Love” is from the Sending Love die. I also added some little gold star confetti.
Inside I repeated the front design and added the Rocket die! Instead of making the base of the rocket the moon, I covered it with stars and let it be part of the sky. The rocket is done in foil. I also added the Happy Valentine’s Day die on Crosshatch Rectangle dies.
Make sure to check out the other designer’s takes on this fun theme. Karen’s will post on Wednesday. Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston has a new release coming next week and it’s filled with fun new dies for lots of occasions! Today I’m sharing the Butterfly Collage Add Ons die.
I started with the Slim Rectangle Crosshatch, Oval Crosshatch, Border Blends Trim and the Butterfly Collage Add ons.
Happy Spring is my sentiment, even though I’m surrounded by snow at the moment!
Inside the Butterflies explode across the card! This die moves like crazy!
I added another Crosshatch Oval for my message.
This is a close up of the butterflies. Some of them move while the mechanism is moving. It’s really lovely!
There are lots of wonderful dies that work with this mechanism (found in the Hearts Collage die set.). Take a look at the sneak peek page and get ready for a great release! Hugs, Fran
The Karen Burniston Design Team Challenge this month is to create a card using Cake! I made one with the Cupcake die and followed Karen’s video to create a window card.
I used the Big Birthday dies to create the balloons on the front and added some sequins to the front and the cupcake.
The cherry was added to the front of the card and finished with some Glossy Accents.
Inside I added the Mini Pop die to attach more balloons.
The other cherries were added to cover up the cherry on the front.
Make sure to check out all the cake designs from he Design Team and Karen will post on Wednesday. Hugs and Happy New Year! Fran
Today is the Karen Burniston Design Team December challenge – Mod Holidays! The challenge is to use non- traditional colors!
First I want to say that my camera hated this challenge! This sleigh (from the Sleigh Pop Up) is actually purple. Sheesh! It’s filled with presents from the Big Birthday Charms set, but keep in mind that there are also packages in the sleigh set. I also used the Cheers word set and just trimmed off the “s.”
I added some gems to the wreath and sparkle pen to the bows. The background is stenciled with stencil paste and glitter.
And inside is the cute little elf helping to load the sleigh! He is made with the Bitty Ball and Character Add Ons 2 dies. His hat uses the Border Blends – Trims die for the trim.
To make his striped outfit, I simply cut strips of paper, adhered them to copy paper and then die cut them out.
Thanks for checking out my mod colors! Make sure to check out all the great designs my the entire team. Karen will post on Wednesday. Hugs, Fran
