Pop It Ups Design Team Challenge Day 1

The May Design Team Challenge is using the new Stage It Stencils by Karen Burniston!  These stencils are super fun!  They have 2 designs on each stencil that can be used as is or combined to make one darling design!  Today I’m using the Baby Pajamas stencil and Baby Clear stamp, along with Stampin Up’s Something for Baby stamp set and matching die all on a Accordion Rectangle card.  There’s also a surprise in the middle 🙂

This is the front.  I start by stenciling the baby pajama in pink with red hearts on my paper and then die cutting the Accordion Rectangle pieces.  The pram is stamped in Wisteria Wonder.

When you open it up, there’s a new matching baby pajama charm hanging in the center.

I sandwiched the Baker’s Twine between the patterned paper and the card stock.  Then I added some elements from Something For Baby.

I found a sweet poem about baby girls to decorate the third Rectangle.  So sweet!  Make sure to check out Karen’s blog to see all the other amazing cards from the design team using her new products!  Hugs, Fran

Hedgehog Halloween

PIU Rectangle Accordion 03

My favorite part about Halloween is that there are no “rules” to decorating.  Sequins, cobwebs, princesses and ghouls – all go together to create some spooky fun!  This Pop It Ups Rectangular Accordion card is a perfect example of “everything goes!”  I started with 3 of Karen Burniston’s awesome Rectangular Accordion panels in Smokey Slate card stock and the Katie Frame Star Edges in Basic Black.  I stamped the Hedgehog Daisy Halloween stamp set in Basic Gray and colored it with Copic markers.(W7, W5. W3,W1 and W00)  Then I added some washi tape, sequins, and black glitter stars along with a glitter banner and big jewel.

Here it is open.  Each panel has it’s own character. I used the Katie Flourish Frame Edge on the middle Accordion.

The moon is lightly colored with a chalk marker.

The vampire has white chalk marker on the light, cummerbund, and bow tie and the witch has the same marker on her scarf.

The Rectangular Accordion makes scenes come together in such a fun way!  For matting each image, I also used the matting dies from the Rectangular Pull card.  They all work together!  Perfect!

Keep Calm

Rectangular Accordion 06

There are a lot of finals going on in my family!  This card is going out to one of the hard-working students:)  The image is Saturated Canary (Reader), colored with Copics.  The paper is Back to Black on a Pop It Ups Rectangular Accordion Album.

The center image says it all!  But the best part is when you look at the back you will see –

She may not ever look at the back – but I know it’s there!  Funny, Aunt Fran 🙂

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge and Friends

PIU Brownie 01

This month’s Karen Burniston’s Designer Challenge is to create and invite a friend to create to an accordion album!  My accordion album is the Rectangular Accordion featuring Brownie the Cow!  I used some lovely Park Lane DSP and Brownie is happily eating flowers right off the page 🙂

Inside has Karen’s new Farm Greeting Clear Stamp and another Brownie.  To reverse a character, simply cut them out and flip them over!  Easy, if you’re using card stock (Basic Black and Soft Suede) and only a thinking if you’re using pretty patterned paper!  The flower is the Boho Blossom punch with tiny pearls.

Tomorrow Vickie O’Dell, the Creative Goddess, will wow you with her creation!  I “met” Vickie online and she is one of the most creative and upbeat people I know!  She is all about DIY and gets involved in almost every craft out there!  You can find her at http://vickiodell.com!  I’ll link to her project tomorrow 🙂

Groovy Baby March Designer Challenge

Bombs Away Birthday 02

Today is the Karen Burniston Designer Challenge for March – Funny Cards!  I started with Whiskers the Cat, the Oval and Rectangular Accordion dies and Flashback Designer Series paper.  Whiskers is looking pretty sharp in his 70’s garb and bling glasses!  His scarf is the collar with a hand cut little piece at the end. “Groovy” is from Groovy Love.

Inside is a sentiment from one of the SU Photopolymer stamps – Bombs Away Birthday. It has some really fun sayings.  You can “rock on” by heading over Facebook to Karen’s page to see what all the other designers have created this month!

Beautiful Sympathy

Rectangular Accordion 05 front

This is a Pop It Ups Rectangular Accordion card using some Elizabeth Craft Design Flower Quartet peel off stickers, Silk microfine glitter and Copics to color it.  The Designer Series paper is from the SU Spring Mini – Painted Blooms – and it’s all tied off with some Hello Honey ribbon.  The paper is so gorgeous it’s hard to decide which piece to use!

I used the sentiment in Love & Sympathy for the inside.  It’s stamped in Wild Wasabi.  Els has a great video on YouTube on how to use the stickers with glitter and Copics.  They really make a card sparkle!  Hugs, Fran

Funky Cakes Big Day

SAB Big Day 03

Sparkly, birthday fun!  This is the Sale-a-bration set, Big Day, combined with some EDC Peel Offs called Funky Cakes – and lots of glitter- on a Karen Burniston’s Pop It Ups Rectangular Accordion die and Oval Accordion die.  The paper is Birthday Bash Specialty paper and all the colors are taken from this color combo.  I colored the cake with Blendabilities and Copics. I masked off half the sentiment, stamped it twice, and popped up the “celebrate.”

Bright and happy!  The Oval Accordion has the rest of the sentiment from the front.  (Again, mask off and stamp)  Looks like a party to me!  Hugs, Fran
