This is Vicki O’Dell’s card for the Karen Burniston Designing with Friends challenge! She chose the Circle Accordion die and made a beautiful thank you card. You can see the rest of her card here. Thanks, Vicki, for playing with me 🙂 Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge and Friends
This month’s Karen Burniston’s Designer Challenge is to create and invite a friend to create to an accordion album! My accordion album is the Rectangular Accordion featuring Brownie the Cow! I used some lovely Park Lane DSP and Brownie is happily eating flowers right off the page 🙂
Inside has Karen’s new Farm Greeting Clear Stamp and another Brownie. To reverse a character, simply cut them out and flip them over! Easy, if you’re using card stock (Basic Black and Soft Suede) and only a thinking if you’re using pretty patterned paper! The flower is the Boho Blossom punch with tiny pearls.
Tomorrow Vickie O’Dell, the Creative Goddess, will wow you with her creation! I “met” Vickie online and she is one of the most creative and upbeat people I know! She is all about DIY and gets involved in almost every craft out there! You can find her at http://vickiodell.com! I’ll link to her project tomorrow 🙂
Pop It Up From the Herd
Karen Burniston has come out with a new line of Pop It Ups – and they fit perfectly with the stamp set From the Herd! One the dies is the Barn Pop Stand (1021). I used it on the front of this card! And the doors slide open and closed!
Inside is Cheepers the Chicken (1023), Brownie the Cow (1022), and Virgil the Pig (1024)! And they are all celebrating 🙂
The party hat is from Props 2 and the balloons are from the Spiral Pull Card. What a fun, fun set of dies!
Easter Berry Basket
Double your fun with this Berry Basket 🙂 I made this one out of Coaster Board and it is sturdy, sturdy, sturdy! To do this, I cut the Berry Basket Die 4 times and assembled them 3/4 of the way – meaning on one piece for each basket I cut off one flap. Cut a piece of Coaster Board 3 x 6 and layer the 3/4 baskets on top of it. Line the inside with some of the Best Year Ever DSP and make a long edge to go around the basket. The handle is a 1/2 x 12 piece of Coaster Board. Decorate and fill with lots of Easter candy – it can handle it! Hugs, Fran
Make ‘Em Laugh (or maybe just smile)
Second day of the Make ‘Em Laugh Challenge for the Karen Burniston Design Team. This card might just “squeeze by” as funny. The card is 6 x 6 and uses the Beach Edges and Palm Tree and Pail dies along with some of the words from the Photopolymer stamp set Countless Sayings #2.
The inside finds Rocky taking a bath in the Bathtub Pop Stand die under the palm trees! The sentiment is from So You.
The tub and bubbles are made from white Shimmer Sheets. Pop over to Karen’s Facebook page to see the rest of the cards for this challenge!
Groovy Baby March Designer Challenge
Today is the Karen Burniston Designer Challenge for March – Funny Cards! I started with Whiskers the Cat, the Oval and Rectangular Accordion dies and Flashback Designer Series paper. Whiskers is looking pretty sharp in his 70’s garb and bling glasses! His scarf is the collar with a hand cut little piece at the end. “Groovy” is from Groovy Love.
Inside is a sentiment from one of the SU Photopolymer stamps – Bombs Away Birthday. It has some really fun sayings. You can “rock on” by heading over Facebook to Karen’s page to see what all the other designers have created this month!
Sweet Bookworm
Here’s another practice piece made into a Pop It Ups Rectangular Pull card. It was a long, snowy winter and I did lots of these – hope you don’t get bored! The image in Saturated Canary’s Reader colored with Copic markers. I used Real Red card stock and Marina Mist Designer Series paper and ribbon for the card.
Inside is the Pop It Ups piece that comes with the Rectangular Pull Card die. The sentiment is from Four You in Real Red. This has become one of my favorite dies because so many things fit on it! Hugs, Fran
Beautiful Sympathy
This is a Pop It Ups Rectangular Accordion card using some Elizabeth Craft Design Flower Quartet peel off stickers, Silk microfine glitter and Copics to color it. The Designer Series paper is from the SU Spring Mini – Painted Blooms – and it’s all tied off with some Hello Honey ribbon. The paper is so gorgeous it’s hard to decide which piece to use!
I used the sentiment in Love & Sympathy for the inside. It’s stamped in Wild Wasabi. Els has a great video on YouTube on how to use the stickers with glitter and Copics. They really make a card sparkle! Hugs, Fran
For the Birds
This simple card was made using the Stylish Stripes embossing folder on each end of the card stock so that there is an empty spot to decorate in the middle. It was inspired by one on Pinterest done by Kerry Bunting. She used a different EF and stamp set – but the idea is the same. For the Birds would make a cute set of cards using this technique.
I masked off the words, stamped the image and then stamped the words to the side and colored the image with Blendabilities. Hugs, Fran
Birthday Pull Card
It’s been snowing here – really, really snowing. 17 inches of snow! So I’ve been coloring 🙂 This is Saturated Canary’s Ellie’s Birthday on a Pop It Ups Rectangular Pull Card using Remembering Your Birthday as the sentiment on Best Year Ever Designer Series paper – colored with Copic markers! Did I mention we had a big snow?
When you open it up, balloons from Pop It Ups Props 2 and packages from the Evergreen Pivot card decorate the inside.
And the sentiment says it all! I’ve pulled everything I own out while doing this card! (Did I mention it snowed?) Hugs, Fran
