I saw this pretty layout by Sage Kimble on Pinterest and decided to change it up just a bit. I loved the color combo (Wisteria Wonder, Mint Macaron and Crumb Cake) and bottom design so I shrunk it down a bit, added some color to the card base and added a sentiment.
I continued the color block to the inside. The sentiment is from Birthday Blossoms. I also added some rhinestone 🙂
Here you can see some detail with some linen thread and an In Color flower. A card for almost any occasion! Hugs, Fran
It’s almost the wedding season and these new new bride and groom Hanging Charms from Karen Burniston for the Pop It Ups Hanging Charms Pull cards are perfect!
This card is 6 x 6 and the middle square is edged in pearls. The bride and groom are separate charms, so you can use them as you need them! The sentiments are from Karen’s new Best Wishes Clear stamp. I kept my card “postcard style” – with a white back so I can write a nice message.
The card stock is the beautiful Irresistibly Yours from Stampin Up! and it has beautiful patterns embossed on them – hard to see. It’s all tied off with white satin ribbon. Hope you’ll find lots of uses for these darling charms. I will! (hint, hint!) Hugs, Fran
This card is for a sweet young woman who just finished vet school! So of course I had to corral some Karen Burniston animals to congratulate her 🙂 They are posing in front of the Barn Pop Stand. The card is 4 1/4 x 9 and will easily accommodate a check or gift card.
The idea is that all the animals have come to wish her well. Check out the bandages on each one.
Looks like everyone is healing nicely! Enjoy! Hugs, Fran
This 5 x 7 card was inspired by one I saw on Technique Tuesday. Using the new In Color inks – Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Sweet Sugarplum – I watercolored on water color paper the background. The sentiment is from Timeless Love, stamped in Stazon. I cut the butterflies from black card stock and drew the ante. And then, because I just can’t leave things alone! – I added some Dazzling Details.
This card is Karen Burniston’s Jinks the Monkey hanging out as a cowboy. The card is large – 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 – and the background is stenciled with stencil paste over a patterned paper. (Retired SU)
I used several piece from the Props 6 dies for the hat and bandana to finish him off. Hugs, Fran
Pick a flower (card!) Both of these cards use Flower Shop and the same colors. One background is embossed with the Honeycomb embossing folder and the other
uses a stencil and Soft Sky ink to create the background. Which one do you like better?
Today is Day 2 of the Great Outdoors Challenge. Today I’m heading to the skies with the Elizabeth Craft Design Rainbow Skies die, Karen Burniston’s Partly Cloudy stencil and Stampin Up’s Tin of Cards sentiment. The base is Daffodil Delight – bright and sunny!
The card size is 5 x 7 with the patterned paper being 5 x 5.
And inside is the wonderful Hot Air Balloon Pop It Up!
The front balloon has a cloud at the bottom of the basket – which is the top of the Pop It mechanism.
Fly over to Karen’s blog to see all the awesome creations for this month’s challenge! Hugs, Fran
Today is day 1 of the Karen Burniston Challenge for April – The Great Outdoors – and I’m doing something new. I saw a beautiful card here by Kittie Caracciolo and I’m casing it 🙂 Here is my version
I started by sponging the top of the card with Soft Sky and the bottom with Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz. The small flower are from Stampin Up’s Floral Wings and are in Rose Red. Then I took an Elegant Eggplant marker and started making the little dotted flowers around it. To soften things out I used a white gel pen and some Pink Pirouette and Daffodil Delight markers. The picket fence is a very, very old Sizzix die (I mean really old!) and the butterflies are an old SU embosslit. The grass is from Karen Burniston’s Outdoor Edges, cut is Pear Pizzaz and sponged with Old Olive. The flowers are a mix from an SU punch and the flower in the KB Garden Bench die. The gate swings open by just creating a score line. I added a banner and sentiment.
On the inside I repeated the sky, grass and die cut grass and flowers from the front. The tree is from All Season Tree. The focal point is the Garden Bench die (fav!!) and the bird from SU’s An Open Heart. More butterflies, more flowers!
Thanks to Kittie for the awesome inspiration and a chance to try some “new to me” techniques. Check out what the other designers have done for this challenge on Karen’s Facebook page and blog! Then stop by tomorrow for some challenge fun! Hugs, Fran
In honor of Shannon West’s (from Stampin Up) campaign – I’m Bring Birthday’s back – this month’s Creative Circle Blog Hop is a darling, perpetual calendar!
The box has two cubes that can be rotated for the days of the month (remember that the 6 is also the 9), a flip top for the months, and a space int he back to hold your birthday cards so you can actually mail them out! (I am the worse!)
I used the Whisper White Heavy card stock and the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Pack to make mine. This paper stack has 48 sheets of double sided paper in it! My balloons on the front are from Balloon Celebration and are punched out with the matching Balloon Bouquet Punch.
This card uses the bow from the Cutie Pie Thinlit, more It’s My Party paper and the Elegant Dot embossing folder.
This card uses the Picture Perfect stamp set and Blushing Bride.
And last, but not least, this card uses the Bokeh technique. You can find it on Splitcoast here.
You can get the pattern here:

Whoa! It’s bright! I was just messing around with the Sunburst Thinlit Die and thought I’d see what it looks like embossed. So here it is – in all it’s bright glory! I die cut the sunburst first and then ran it through the Big Shot with Tiny Triangles embossing folder. The stamp set is Sunburst Sayings and the paper is from It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Pack. Hugs, Fran
