Paper Pros April Challenge – Spring Flowers

It’s Spring!  But unless I put some snow on this card, it’s hard to believe!  The Paper Pros Challenge this month is spring flowers so I started with Karen Burniston’s Flower Pot Pop Up dies and the Flower and Bee die.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up’s Beautiful Bouquet.  The card is 5 x 5.

I die cut a circle and made a wreath with the flowers.  The flowers are accented with white gel pen and Crystal Nuvo Dots in the centers.

Inside is the Flower Pot Pop Up and lots of flowers and bees.  When you are adding things inside the Flower Pot and around it, you need to check that things aren’t hanging outside of the card and that the embellishments on the inside don’t keep the card from closing.

I embossed the pot with Stampin Up’s Basket Weave embossing fold and a bit of Crumb Cake ink.  Very springy!  Thanks for taking a look and make sure to check out the other Paper Pros to see what they did with the challenge theme.  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge for April – Hip to be Square

This month the Karen Burniston Design Team is Hip to Be Square!  I started with the Stampin Up’s Bubble Over stamp set and matching Designer Series paper and used the KB Riley Spinner Square die.  The card is 5 x 5 and has a stack of squares on the front – each one die cut with an opening in the middle.  Between the layers I put a piece of acetate.

Inside the bottles pop out and the sentiment swings forward.  The bottles are covered with Wink of Stella and the caps and bubbles have Glossy Accents coating them.

I love this mechanism!  It’s so much fun!  Check out the other designers (Karen will post on Wednesday) to see how “Hip” they are!  Hugs, Fran

Hello Friend

Here’s a fun card using Karen Burniston’s Palm Tree Pop Up and her Tropical Scene dies and some cute StampingBella stamps.  The card is 5 x 5.  The images are stamped in Momento ink and colored with Copic markers. The sunglasses, sun, and seashells are coated with a Wink of Stella pen and then coated with Glossy Accents.

And inside is the Palm Tree Pop Up!  I have tied the hammock to the tree and added the little sunbather to the hammock.  On the bottom of the sentiment strip, I’ve added Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents to the shells, glasses, turtle shell, umbrella and duck’s beak.

Here’s the sunbather hanging out in the hammock.  A fun card for a friend!  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Design Team March Challenge – Coffee and Cake

This month’s challenge for the Karen Burniston Design is Coffee and Cake – which will you choose?  I chose coffee (though I’m not opposed to cake with my coffee!)  Using the Coffee Pop Up die and some retire Stampin Up patterned paper, I created 2 cards.

The sentiment on the front is from Garden in Bloom and featured the Pansy punch.

Inside is the wonderful Coffee Pop Up die that has little tabs on the cup to hold a gift card.  The card then works with the Pop Up piece.  A light weight paper works best with the cup and patterned paper is wonderful.

I decorated my coffee cup with the included die and another pansy.  Make sure to check out the other designers!  It’s a great coffee break 🙂  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros February Challenge – Love

This month’s Paper Pro challenge is Love.  I used the new Karen Burniston Spinner Square Pop Up die to make a Valentine card.  The front uses the Painted Love DSP and Gold foil papers along with Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Tangerine Tango card stocks.  The little heart is Powder Pink, painted with a shimmer pen and cover with Glossy Accents.  The row of gold hearts are die cut with Karen Burniston’s Cake Trim die.  It’s all finished off with a Powder Pink ribbon.

The dies on the Spinner Square can cut an opening on the front.  As you open the card, the message pops out!

Since I turned mine vertically, the message pops out from the bottom.  The sentiment is from Sure do Love You.    Hugs, Fran

Stickers!

This card is made with Hero Arts Window on Love Confetti background die that I paper pieced using Real Red, Powder Pink and Flirty Flamingo.  The gold sentiment, border and hearts are the new Painted Love Gold vinyl stickers from Stampin Up!  I simply pressed them over the background die.

And I added some Glossy Accents on the Love and the hearts (couldn’t resist!)  Such fun!  Hugs, Fran

In the Clouds

Here’s a funny Valentine using an older AI stamp set – Val Set – and Karen Burniston’s Katherine Label die.  The clouds are die cut from a Stampin Up die set called Rainbow Builder (Occasions Catalog)  There is an acetate window over the opening.

Here he is up in the air!  The little hearts are coated in Shimmer pen and Glossy Accents.  So is his large heart.

Same idea here – an older AI Tina set – and I used an oval opening instead of the Katherine Label.  And the card size is 4 1/2 x 6.

The Katherine Label will work with lots of die openings (or no opening!)  Almost ready for Valentines Day!  Hugs, Fran

Jar of Candied Love

This simple card is made with Jar of Love and the candy hearts in the Sure Do Love You set.  I made some masks for the hearts and just masked them as I filled the jar.  I used the matching Framelits to cut out the jar and tied it off with some Baker’s Twine.  The colors are Flirty Flamingo, Powder Pink and Pool Party.  You could easily make these as tiny cards.  Hugs, Fran

Fortunate to Know You

Here’s a quick card with some easy Copic coloring.  The set is from the Occasions Catalog and is called Fortunate to Know You.  I made some simple masks of the cookies and stamped the scene.  Then I did some quick Copic coloring and added some punched hearts.  Of course I had to add some Wink of Stella shimmer pen and Glossy Accents on the hearts 🙂  Think of all the things you could do with this set!  Hugs, Fran

By the Sea

These little sets are from StampingBella, the Littles Palm Tree set and Sandcastle set, and they were perfect paired with Karen Burniston’s Castle die.  For the front I used the Karen Burniston Tropical Scene die to create the sand and water.  Then I colored the little sunbathers and accessories with Copic Markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I covered the shells, sun, and the sunglasses with Glossy Accents and added some washi tape to the bottom. The sentiment is Stampin Up’s Eastern Beauty.

But the fun is inside-

Using the Karen Burniston Castle Pop Up die, I made a sandcastle.  The beach babies and other beach accessories decorate the inside and the Tropical scene die continues to the inside.

The castle is so cute and very easy to assemble.  And a drawbridge!  Hope you enjoy the sun and sand!  Hugs, Fran
