Owls in Love! Today on the Elizabeth Crafts Design blog, I have this card with directions. It’s a Katie Label Pivot using the Paris Edge die on the sides. This card fits in a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 envelope.
I used Stampin Up’s new English Cottage Designer Series paper and some of the heavy white card stock. You can find the directions here. Hugs, Fran
The Karen Burniston Designer Challenge this month is to do an “artsy” card and a “cute” card. This is my artsy card, using World of Dreams stamp set and Typeset Designer Series paper and the Double High technique. Since this paper is very light (book page) I decided to paint it with acrylic paint to add some heft, and then splattered it with black ink. I embossed the image on the front with black embossing powder, added some Crumb Cake seam binding, washi tape, some punches from the Bird Builder punch and a button.
On the inside I used a Happy Birthday sticker and the ECD die Berry Branch. Fun to make – and hard to quit adding things to it! I hope you’ll check out all the projects on Karen’s Facebook page. Hugs, Fran
There is a piece of Designer Series paper called Painted Blooms (page 18) in the Occasions Mini that is so pretty it’s hard to cut into it! I decided to make Karen Burniston’s Double High Katie Label Pop It Ups card with it so I could show off as much as possible the design.
The sentiment is Petite Pairs and I used the Butterflies Thinlit and the Pop It Ups Paris Edges on the front and inside. Here’s the link to make the Double High card – it’s one of my favorite techniques! Hugs, Fran
Every had an idea in your head – and it turns out as something completely different? Well that would be this card! Using the colors from the Stacked with Love DSP, I ended up doing a Karen Burniston Katie Label Pop It Ups Pivot card using Banner Banter as the stamp set.
But I didn’t really use the DSP (just a tiny piece inside) just Back to Black and some Beach House washi tape. Hugs, Fran
Karen Burniston’s Challenge – number 3! Blue! I found a lovely poem about snow and growing old and printed it on to Whisper White card stock then die cut it with a die from Karen’s Katie Label Pivot die. The Designer Series paper is All is Calm from Stampin Up’s Holiday mini.
Inside is the Garden Bench, Tree for All Season and Happy Birthday Pop It Ups! To make the Happy Birthday curve across the snow, I simply ran it through my Xyron and the addition of adhesive made it easy to bend.
Can you see all the sparkly Dazzling Details snow? I used acrylic paint to paint some of the branches and added “snow” to the bench and tree (and me, of course!) Hugs, Fran
It’s Day 2 of the Karen Burniston Pop It Ups Challenge. The theme is masculine and I’ve done a masculine Double High Katie Label Pivot Card for you today using The Open Sea and the Maritime Designer Series paper.
I love making these Double High cards – and Karen has a great video to teach you how to make them.
Stamp Sets – The Open Sea, Remembering Your Birthday, Fabulous Four
Card Stock – Real Red, Night of Navy, Whisper White, Maritime DSP
Ink – Jet Black Stazon, Night of Navy
Etc – Pop It Ups Katie Label Pivot, Accordion Fancy Label and Agatha Edges, Circle Framelits, Candy Dots
There are lots of great ideas on Karen’s Facebook page. Go check them out! Hugs, Fran
