Karen Burniston Designer Challenge – Hats Off!

Merry Day After Christmas! ¬†Today we are doing a Hats Off Challenge – interpret as you might ūüôā ¬†I chose some fun characters to watch the clock for the New Year.

I used Clock and Gears for the focal point of my card and made it a shaker! ¬†It’s popped on foam tape and a window sheet and filled with fun sequins, large gold foil pieces and glitter.

Jolly the Mouse, Honey the Bear and Baker the Beaver are decked out with champagne and fancy hats to wait for midnight.

And when the clock strikes 12………

I used the wonderful Anita Frames Pop UP  and a Stamping UP Balloon punch to get the party started.

Everything is die cut from Gold foil and Black and Silver Glimmer paper. ¬†My kind of party! ¬†Make sure to check out the other Hats Off cards on Karen’s Facebook page or her blog! ¬†Happy New Year! ¬†Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge – All I Want For Christmas

This is challenge is to use the die that you would most like to see under the tree (if you didn’t already have it!) ¬†I have to say that my current favorite Pop It Ups die is the Twist Circle! ¬†Now before I show you the card I need to say that not only do we celebrate Christmas during December – we also have 5 birthdays! ¬†That’s right – 5! ¬†So with that in mind………

Happy Birthday! ¬†This card is 4 1/2 x 8 1/2, featuring SU’s Birthday Fiesta stamp ¬†and coordinating paper. ¬†The balloon is coated with Glossy Accents and the llama and balloon are popped up with fun foam.

The llama is holding the hand drawn balloon string in his mouth (almost looks like a mustache!)

But the magic happens when you open the card!

The center balloon flies up into place creating a happy scene! ¬†It’s a wonderful die! ¬†Check out what the other designers are doing on Karen’s Facebook page or her blog! ¬†Happy times! ¬†Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge – Charmed, I’m Sure!

This challenge is all about charms – Karen Burniston’s Hanging Charms! ¬†There are lots of charms available and I chose the Holiday Charms for this card. ¬†But I didn’t hang them…..

I used Buster the Dog and the Holiday Charms to create a Christmas card. ¬†The snowflake is hanging from a die cut circle and the package and tree charm decorate the background. ¬†The house is fussy cut from Stampin Up’s Candy Cane Lane Designer Series paper.

The snowflake is suspended on some fishing line.

Inside I finished it off with some paw prints from Props 4. ¬†Head over to Karen’s Facebook page to check out all the other charming card for this challenge! Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge – Hat Attack

What could be better than a barrel of monkeys? ¬†A barrel of monkeys celebrating YOU! ¬†This Designer Challenge is “Hat Attack” and I chose Jinks the Monkey and the Cowboy hat from Props 6. ¬†The barrel is the basket from Barrel Basket with Pop Up.

Everyone is celebrating!

Inside I used the Twist Circle Pop Up die, another Jinks and several hats to continue the celebration.

It is so fun to watch Jinks twist into place! ¬†Make sure to check out Karen’s Facebook page and blog to see all the other ways “Hat Attack” was used ūüôā ¬†Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Team Challenge – Boy oh Boy!

This team challenge is Boy oh Boy! – masculine cards! ¬†I chose Stampin Up’s No Bones About It set and Fiesta Birthday Designer Series paper paired with Karen Burniston’s Lorna Label Pop Up die.

The Lorna Label dies have matching pieces that create the center section.  I used them on both the front and inside!  It makes it so easy to put this card together.

Make sure to check out the other cards on Karen’s Facebook page! ¬†Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Team Challenge – ROYGBIV

Time for another Karen Burniston Team Challenge –¬†ROYGBIV! ¬†The colors of the rainbow only monochromatic. ¬†I chose the color Pink ūüôā

I started with a retired Stampin Up sentiment from Remembering Your Birthday and used Karen’s Labels and Circles die for the front. ¬†Lots of pink and a little bling finish it off.

The inside is a Pop It Ups Twist Circle Panel card with lots of cake and presents. ¬†The cake is from Stampin Up’s Endless Birthday Wishes. ¬†And more bling – of course. ¬†The video on how to make this card can be found here.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge – Team Inspiration

This challenge for Karen Burniston’s Design Team is to take inspiration from another person on the team so I chose Karen Burniston and Karen Aiken – a Karen and Karen card! ¬†I made a Cascading Tag card using Karen B’s video tutorial and taking inspiration from Karen Aiken’s Cascading Tag card using patterned paper. I started with Stampin Up’s Presents & Pinecones Designer Series paper and Karen’s new Holiday Clear Stamp on the front. ¬†The little present is from her Evergreen Pivot Card.

The inside is made with the Adirondack Chair die and the Tag dies Рfeaturing Jolly the Mouse as Santa.  There are some of the new hanging charms dangling from the points. You can click on the picture to make it larger.

Now hop over to Karen’s blog or her Facebook page to see all the inspired designs and make sure to check out her Tuesday post for ¬†even more fun! ¬†Hugs, Fran

Cray 4 Challenges – Celebrate

PIU Baker Beaver 04

Today the Crazies are Celebrating! ¬†This is Raquel’s son’s birthday so the theme is celebrating those special people in our lives. ¬†I chose Karen Burniston’s Baker the Beaver to star on my card. ¬†This card is 4 x 8 1/2 ¬†so it can hold Baker’s enormous cake! ¬†(Looks like he needs some help!) Baker and the cake are on an action wobble.

I used several Stampin UP sets on this card РBuild a Birthday, Birthday Fiesta and Birthday Banners!  Enjoy all the celebrating going on with the Crazies!  Hugs, Fran

Crazy 4 Challenges – Sketch

PIU Midnight the Bat 02

This challenge uses the sketch (which I sort of followed!) ¬†I started with a huge 6 x 8 card and Karen Burniston’s Pop It Ups Midnight the Bat and Halloween Scene dies. He is hanging out on Stampin Up’s Sliding Star Framelits so he spins around the tree branch.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge – Halloween

Halloween! ¬†Spooky or cute? ¬†That’s today’s Karen Burniston Designer Challenge.

I started with a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card the Karen Burniston’s new Labels and Circle die and her Halloween Clear stamp with the new Stampin Up Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper. ¬†I stamped the sentiment on 3 layers of the Labels and Circles dies and re-stacked them for the front.

And when you open the card –

A cute little Trick or Treat scene featuring the Twist Circle Pop Up die.  The ghosts and pumpkins are from the Halloween Charms die set.  I left the ghost as 3-D pieces so the pop up (!)

The little Trick or Treat bags are hand cut. ¬†So I guess my answer to the challenge question – spooky or cute – is cute! ¬†Make sure to check out the rest of the designer cards by going to Karen’s blog or Facebook page. ¬†Hugs, Fran
